Pickles the bird was the highlight. I was disappointed with this hotel. We booked the garden villa and discovered on the first morning that our room looked directly out on to the main road. It felt very exposed and not particularly safe.

They only offered breakfast Thursday to Sunday; from Monday to Wednesday, you are left to your own devices. I know it is low season but surely a basic continental breakfast can be arranged.

My stay at the Palm Resort in Darwin was simply wonderful! The hotel's lush, green surroundings, filled with tropical plants and palm trees, create a soothing, natural atmosphere. The bungalows blend seamlessly into this environment, providing a relaxing connection to nature.

The resort is located directly on Mitchell Street, the vibrant heart of Darwin's nightlife. The proximity to numerous bars, restaurants, and clubs is perfect for those seeking adventure after sunset.

The entire property is impeccably clean and well-maintained. With excellent access to tourist information, perfectly organized excursions to the Northern Territory are a breeze.

For relaxation, there is a beautiful pool and an inviting barbecue area, plus a guest laundry and private parking. A special guest is the tame parrot Pickels, who lives at the reception and loves to be petted.

The service at Palm Resort is top-notch. Especially JADE at the reception was incredibly engaged, very helpful, and always friendly. Her tips for exploring the region were invaluable. Thanks to her and the entire team, I felt completely comfortable and could enjoy every moment.

I recommend the Palm Resort to anyone looking for the perfect blend of nature and city experience. A true little paradise in the midst of Darwin, which I will definitely visit again!

Palm city is a beautiful place. I got the Tropical Villa and my best friend got the garden room/ villa. I noticed in the afternoon that my villa was really quite warm & uncomfortable in the heat of the wet season. The sun beats down on the villas in the afternoon and the nearby road and concrete driveway doesn't help cool the place down enough. Well it's actually the oldish/ size/ kw of the air-conditioning/ split system that can't keep up. When you walk inside the room at first it would feel noticeably cooler but after 10 to 15 mins it's definitely not cool enough. It's not cool enough until around 9 to 11pm. I did complain however it was new years day and the only villa available was next door to mine. I stood inside the room and felt the same issue. The desk people said they couldn't do anything about my complaint. The following day they offered me to try a villa by the pool. It was still warm but noticeably cooler than mine as the garden and garden villas sheltered the room from heat. By then my partner was over our holiday and had a bad back, he was in too much pain to lug r stuff around to a new room, it was our last night so he chose to stay in r original room. We were offered a bottle of wine and a 1hr later check out. It was a little disappointing but I didn't make any fuss because I'm not that kind of person. I'm just a little suprised if the complaint about the lack of appropriate air-conditioning in the heat of the wet season hadn't been made before and want to say something for future stayers. Apart from that it was absolutely beautiful there and the staff are so friendly. My friend that stayed in the garden villas room was definitely 10⁰ c cooler than my room and the room is significantly smaller.

Compact resort hotel in a very good location at Darwin's Esplanade. The staff was great throughout the stay.

There was no full breakfast but there were great options nearby (maybe because it was low season).

The rooms are clean, and the bed very comfortable. The only drawback is that noise insulation is not that good so nighttime storms will wake you up from the noise. The pet rescue bird is a nice quirky addition.

Unfortunately the Wi-Fi was inconsistent and connection was dropping off all the time on multiple devices.

In retrospect I would have splurged for the bungalow since they look very nice.

Palms City is truly an oasis in the heart of Darwin. Beautifully appointed property, and the staff are attentive and friendly.

I've stayed here twice and their Garden Bungalow and Standard triple room were gorgeous. Good air conditioning and showers for the hot, humid nights!

They've got breakfast for $20 a pop if you pre book, it's not mind blowing but props for being a proper, hot buffet breakfast and not continental!

Property is also conveniently located nearby shops and the bus interchange, including Greyhound services.

Highly recommended! Truly a special place.

This resort in the centre of Darwin on the Esplanade is absolutely perfect. We stayed for a week and had the buffet breakfast every morning. It was absolutely beautiful and had everything you would need or want. The staff were unbelievable and the rooms were spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds and a quite big balcony which we used every minute we were there. The pool however was not the best. You cannot stand up anywhere in this pool which did not bother myself, but could be a problem for others who maybe are not good swimmers, or small children. The position is perfect across the road from the park with war memorials and the ocean, so is very quiet. There is a pub nearby which you can at times hear music and noise, but it was never a bother to us. One last plus was the two feathered friends who reside at the resort. Pickles the Parrot and Brick the chicken. These two little birds made our day! After staying here, I will stay here whenever I come back to Darwin. Superb ?

Great Location, lovely lush gardens, cute bungalows that are cosy & clean. The pool was great on the extra humid days. Pickles the parrot was an absolute pleasure to see each day! However the hotel is quite open & anybody can just walk on in, I did have some personal items stolen off the porch which was unfortunate. I let the staff know & it was dealt with accordingly. One night while we were staying an entire car load of aboriginals pulled up right out the front, ran through the hotel yelling & helped themselves to the pool. After they were done, they all piled back into the car & took off. Another night a lady was being attacked in the early hours outside of the hotel & ran in banging on doors for assistance. So please keep your doors locked & your belongings with you.

We had a lovely stay in a bungalow which was beautifully appointed utilising a relatively small space. The pool is small and not large enough to swim in but is very comfortable to cool off. Not suitable for children because of its depth. The only problem was that we didn't have any Wi-Fi and the staff were unable to acknowledge the problem that has affected many travellers as reflected in the reviews. They said they did have 3 portable modems the guest that had trouble but none were available. It would be a relatively simple problem to fix and it's disappointing that the management hasn't done so after many complaints and left it to the very pleasant staff to try and explain.
