We spent 5 nights at this idyllic location by the river Derwent. The bungalow was spacious and comfortable. Great to have a bbq for the evenings. It's a drive from shops and facilities but if you like self-catering away from the hustle and bustle, then this is perfect.

what a great place to stay. Comfortable bed. Beautiful view by the river, ducks and birds out the front everyday. Breakfast provided. Nice and clean and spacious. Tim and Karen our hosts are lovely, thank you for a great stay. Easy drive to explore different parts of Tasmania.

Otago cottage such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. If its a coffee in the morning or a beer or wine in the arvo the view is always superb.
The cottage is great for couples or families and offers everything you could want for a self contained stay.
The hosts Tim and Karen are the loveliest of people and so helpful in every way imaginable.
We stayed for 11 nights and seen every sight we possibly could .
Tim and Karen thank you so very much it was exactly what we needed.

If you are looking for a quiet, serene, tranquil, and peaceful place with solitude away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is the place one should go for. It has a beautiful river view, hill view and has a miniature park in itself just right in front of your cottage with birds, rabbits and hares moving around freely. Most importantly the place has a very good energy and vibes. I fell in love with the surrounding at my first sight. The cottage where I stayed has a nice cozy bedroom with ensuite toilet, shower and a massive bath tub. It also has a miniature kitchen and living room fully furnished, TV and WIFI. What touched my heart the most was Karen (the owner) being there to welcome me when I first arrived and driving me for a grocery shopping so that I didn’t have to worry about my dinner on the day. For someone like me who likes to cook her own food I felt it to be a very wonderful experience and a kind gesture from the owner. If I have to come back to Tasmania in future this is definitely the place I will be staying in.

Spent 10 nights at Otago Cottage and have only good things to say about this place and its hosts, Karen and Tim. The view is awesome, the house is impeccable, not to mention the contents in the fridge including Karen's quiche, which is absolutely delicious. Thanks Karen and Tim for looking after us. Will stay there again if we ever visit Hobart again.

Beautiful peaceful setting with the Derwent River right on your doorstep. Plenty of beautiful views and wild life to enjoy while sitting on your back veranda or by the river. Both the Cottage and the Bungalow are well appointed and very comfortable. The provisions for breakfast were very generous with great variety. Karen and Tim are the best hosts you could hope for. We along with friends that came to stay for a short while were cared for above and beyond our expectations. We spent 17 days at Otago and could have stayed much longer. We would make this our first choice accommodation on our next trip to Tassi. Thank you so much for making our stay such a pleasure.

I would have given Otago Cottage 10 stars if I could. Best stay ever! Kudos to Karen and Tim for keeping this place at its best - you can feel their love for this place and how they had wanted everything perfect. Touches of luxury everywhere in the house, down to the details, and the whole place feels very homely, very welcoming and beautiful. The view is fabulous and it really ended our holiday in Hobart on a high note. Thank you!
