Opera Apartments South Bank - South Brisbane, Queensland

Paid $220 per night for a one bedroom apartment. It felt like an air bnb, which is not a good thing in my opinion. They provided bare essentials, such as one toilet roll, on check in. If you need more, you have to go to the shops to buy it yourself.

The location was too quiet for my liking. It's a short walk to a small and overpriced supermarket, a good 10 minute walk to restaurants and the train station. The bakery downstairs was very good, but that's got nothing to do with the hotel and is operated independently.

On arrival at the apartment at 5pm after a long day at an event I was given my room key. On entry to my room, I discovered it had not been cleaned or serviced, the bed was unmade, the toilet was dirty and there were towels on the floor. I rang the afterhours number, and while the manager arranged a full clean and new linen I had to wait in the foyer. I didn’t get into my room again in till nearly 7pm. While I was waiting, the manager offered to provide me with one night free from my 3 night stay that I had paid in advance. However, on reaching out to him the next week to get the refund, he offered only 10% instead of the full nights and said he never guaranteed it, and now its a he said/she said issue and I get nothing. Unethical behaviour and poor service alround.

Well located. The entrance door is difficult to find and there is no mention/sign for Opera apartment. Modern. Nice terasse. I would suggest they replace the old carpet for wood floors and change faucet and cabinet knobs as they are in bad condition. Small cutting knives are also missing in the kitchen.

My spouse and I had a wonderful six-night getaway at Opera apartment . The location was incredibly convenient, colse and Woolworth are quite close, allowing us to explore the area effortlessly. The room was comfortable and clean, which made our stay very pleasant. We particularly appreciated the fully equipped kitchen, which allowed us to prepare our own meals easily. The staff were friendly and attentive. In addition, Dishwasher and washing machine were also included in the apartment. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and we look forward to visiting again in the future!

Arrived to a dark corridor with bags of dirty laundry. Apartment is tired with stained furniture, ripped rug, wobbly dining chairs. Internet is sketchy, kept dropping out and only allowed one user. Dirty utensils in drawer. Poor customer service. Desk unattended and staff unresponsive to calls and email during office hours.

We stayed at Opera Apartments while attending a conference at the Convention Centre. Our greeting on arrival was very pleasant, and we were early so hoping they could keep our bags for us while we went out for lunch. They apologised for the apartment not being ready (no drama, we were over two hours early) and called us when it was ready, having already given us the keys. Then when we came back, there was a big group at reception, so I said to my son we'd go up to the apartment and I would come down again to get the bags, only to be pleasantly surprised they were waiting for us.

The apartment was spotless and its proximity to the BCEC is fantastic, plus obviously an easy walk to Southbank. We caught the train from the airport and it was a super easy walk from South Brisbane Station.

We were allocated a car park, which my visiting friend used. The apartment was super quiet, the beds comfortable and the two bathrooms and kitchen functional and clean.

Would recommend to anyone wanting quiet, self-contained space with easy access to public transport and walk to Southbank and even the city.

These apartments are in a great location close to West End and SouthBank + public transport.The reception woman was pleasant and security is excellent.The beds are super soft, clean and comfortable and the kitchen adequate.The Cafe below and behind the building is handy.Unfortunately at 90% humidity we were surprised there was no air conditioning or air flow in the passageways that had those terrible artificial cover up the smell products plugged in.We also had no idea that across the road for the 6 days a building was being renovated and from early morning till late a screeching alarm sound each time the machinery had to go up and down would happen. If on the balcony with our friend that we we were visiting, we could not hear each other talk.The amount of homeless people all around the apartment and close by in the park area was very sad to see and perhaps visiting people could donate any unopened food and drink items to the homeless.For the daily cost we would not expect to have an obvious stained lounge and lots of yellow stains over the bedroom carpet and also same walking into the bathroom area. We were in room 811- If you are a couple and do not need a kitchen, firstly try one of the better hotels.
