Our stay at the Olde Tudor Hotel in early April was disappointing due to a combination of poor maintenance and unprofessional customer service.

We stayed in a family room for four, where the bathroom door wouldn’t close properly—quite a basic expectation, especially for families. When we contacted reception, we were open to overlooking the issue in exchange for a small concession or even some food credit, but the response from the staff member (Bridget) was dismissive and rude.

The night duty manager, however, was polite and helpful. He came to check the issue himself, tried to fix it, and when it couldn’t be resolved, offered us access to the vacant room next door so we could use the facilities. We appreciated his practical approach.

Unfortunately, the next morning at 9 AM, cleaners entered that room without warning and we received a call from Bridget, who accused us of being in there without permission. When we explained that it was arranged by the night manager, she flatly said, “No you didn’t—I was there last night,” even though she clearly wasn’t present during that conversation. Her tone was defensive and unnecessarily accusatory, adding to the frustration caused by the already poor state of the room.

This experience pointed to a clear lack of communication between staff and a lack of professionalism in how issues are handled. The rooms themselves are outdated and in need of repair.

While the night manager did his best, the overall experience didn’t reflect good value or hospitality. Strongly recommend the hotel improve its customer service training and internal communication before offering rooms at this standard.

We enjoyed the two nights we spent in this comfortable and roomy accommodation. The hotel is well-situated in terms of being easy to get into town, but we especially liked the convenience of the IGA just next door for supplies (and the fisho virtually across the road). We didn't eat at the pub itself so can't speak to that. The two bedrooms, kitchen and living area were quite spacious so with two couples we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Streaming service was included, also worth noting the excellent shower, and the free parking immediately outside the door was convenient. Good option!

I booked a room as in the past two years you always get a $10 voucher for free to spend in the restaurant area. So I thought to myself wow this is a great deal. Then when I booked the room on Good Friday Easter. The manager told me that the $10 voucher is not available on a public holiday. Only on normal days. So now I booked a room with basically no food for dinner as now I have to pay full price. Which defeats the purpose of travelling all the way here from Hobart. Only to be told I’m not entitled to a $10 voucher as it’s Good Friday. So I basically wasted all my time and energy and petrol money on getting here only to be refused a $10 voucher. But apparently she said if I book another day I’ll be entitled to a $10 voucher. We there is no guarantee. So I will now book another motel. Very upset

We love this motel!
We asked for some small flavors just before we arrived! And they helped us to sort them out straight away!
And I told them we didn't get a chance to use the $10 voucher in the first two nights because of the late check in and the other day is full hiking day.
They gave us another voucher to use for the dinner!

The whole apartment is pretty roomy and clean. Have our own bathtub, washing machine and dishwasher (but it is leaking).

Will stay again next time visit Launceston!

Booked a Superior Queen Suite for a 2 night stay. Very spacious room with all amenities. Clean and comfy. Automated check-in. IGA, a pharmacy and cafes located next door.

Pleasant area for meals.Staff friendly. Meals came in a timely manner and were a decent size. Were not too badly priced. I didn't go much on my steak as could taste the grill on it.Schnitzel was massive and hubby enjoyed the pepper sauce with his.

Walls in rooms are paper thin. Be prepared to be woken up by you neighbors alarm, conversation, or the garbage truck at 7:50am on a holiday morning. The rooms are large, with a bunk bed option for families that we appreciated. Staff is friendly. However, at least 3 emails with significant grammar mistakes (that obscured meaning) were sent prior to our arrival to warn us of the reduced services over the holiday weekend. While understandable for a moment and pop bed and breakfast, it was not anticipated for an establishment this size.

We stayed overnight in one of their king rooms. The bed was very comfortable and despite being on a significant road it was quiet. The updated ensuite was nice too.
