Had dinner on the Wednesday night of Beef Week, the restaurant was very quiet yet the menu was reasonably priced. Crumbed Steak ($16) serve was on small side yet very delicious. Bangers and mash was ‘bang on!’ For ($17). No complaints- would recommend for families as prices are very good.

Booked a table for 4 here for dinner.
Had 1 drink each (JD was served in the smallest glass I've ever seen)
No air-conditioning or fans for cooling in the middle of summer.
Wish we'd known that before booking.
Was so hot in there, we were were sweating sitting at a table that was sticky, as well as the floor to walk on.
Wish I could say it was the great experience with the sizzle plates we were wanting to try.
But in that heat, was the last thing we wanted to do, so we walked out without ordering, and went to a different restaurant that had air-conditioning and better service.

Staying at a nearby hotel we walked up the road to this pub not expecting much but looking for a meal. We were pleasantly surprised!! Had the atmosphere of an authentic Irish pub and we sat at a booth which was great for a friendly chat. Bonus was the Happy Hour 5-7!!! $4 gins! Meal was excellent we had the Irish Beef and Guinness Pie. We will be back!

I always stay at this Irish Pub. It has two types of accomodation, "Backpacker" is upstairs above the pub, or those who like a little more luxury, there are 6 studios beside the pub. I've stayed in both and like the studios. At the end of your day in Rockhampton, you can freshen up in your studio, go to the pub for a great mean and best of all, an Irish beer (Killkenny my fav) on tap.||||Tonight there was a poker game happening, I didn't stay for that but I did play the pokies for a while. ||||Each studio has its own undercover car park, its located in the centre of the city in the famous Denison Street.||||I stay here for work and when attending Residential School at CQU (only 7km away).||||The Irish Pub at O'dowds is both classic and trendy. The inside very "Irish authentic", out the back are pool tables and open space for bigger groups.||||My meals were all charged back to my room, Walk from the bar back your room safely and conveniently.

For the price it was ok. The room was quite dusty, with numerous stains on the carpet. The aircon was extremely noisy and didnt work well at all. It needed windows to allow for some more airflow.

Pretty good food. It was close to our accommodation but only open Thursday, Friday & Saturday. Nice Irish pub atmosphere created.

Bed bugs which bite, and an air conditioner louder than a jumbo, closed 4 days out of seven so no food, manager curt and unfriendly, in short never again. There's a reason it's cheap, I just wrote them. Ya get what ya pay for and with Odowds it's true.
