Our family had Father's day lunch at the O'Connell hotel today. We hadn't been there for a few years & of course being a special day, it was booked out. The menu was varied, great dishes to choose from. There were 8 if us & we ordered burgers, schnitzels, a salad, cutlets pizzas & pork belly. The meals arrived promptly & each meal was absolutely delicious! The burgers were huge, a Mexican schnitzel, amazing, but the highlight for my husband & a daughter were the cutlets, 3 succulent large cutlets, just delicious. My beetroot & pumpkin salad was loaded with feta,
walnuts, & pepitas for added crunch. Could not get over how smoothly the pub was running considering the large crowd. A faultless meal & we'll be back.

Won't be back in a million years. The single most dissapointing experience of my life. They had no knowledge of our booking of 12 people even though it was booked two weeks prior and confirmed half an hour prior to our arrival. On arrival the entertainment was so obnoxiously loud and so awful I just wanted to leave, I think that was the case with most people as by the time we had struggled through our meal and were leaving as soon as we could there was not one person remaining, everyone had left because it was awful.

I had a great meal with a couple of beer sitting by the fire. Earlier, I wanted to watch the Sydney Swans game, and the staff happily put on a TV on for me. The owner and staff were all very friendly.
There was good live music which was not too loud.
I camped out the back of the pub for free with access to clean toilets and showers.

Lovely hotel. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. Once we ordered lunch for a large group the service was fast and furious and was impressed that basically everyone's lunch turned up within a few minutes so we got to eat together. The salads, burgers, fish and chips all went down a treat and the only and this is a personal opinion that didn't was the pizza was not much fun. It was more a 'melt' with too much sauce and cheese and difficult to eat made worse by only having a single sheet of paper serviette to clean up with. For the record that was the only thing I faulted and why I couldn't give five stars....I give you 4.75 stars. Go visit you won't be sorry ?

Excellent country pub, lots of local history on display with local craft beers on tap, amazing food, and very friendly staff! Stop here, you'll love it.
