Double check your booking. I thought I had booked a ground floor swim out room, but I was upstairs. However the room I was in was spacious and decently clean. My two issues were: the odd shape of the shower - plus every time I took a shower it flooded the bathroom floor (leaked from under the shower door); and there were no curtains in the room only window shutters and it was impossible to make the room dark. On the plus side, the pool was lovely, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed my meals in the restaurant (which is onsite but not part of the resort). Also there is a shopping centre and fast food options just across the road.

We had booked 2 different room types due to availability when we arrived for our 1st night the room was dusty and the bathroom stunk so bad like a old mop bucket of bleach. The carpets were damp from the leaking air-conditioning. We complained and got moved to the room next door which was much bigger but still dirty and smelly sticky floors u could not walk with shoes off. Again a smell and bathrooms and washing machine all mouldy.
We have now arrived to our next room which is for 3 nights
Horrible
Old, not clean and a mouldy bathroom. The whole place needs complete renovations which is really upsetting because from the photos we thought we were coming for a really nice holiday. The pool is freezing to the point you can't enjoy a swim. For our 4 nights we paid approx $1115.00. Really disappointing. The cleaners need training or to be replaced. Simple things like bedside tables in all 3 rooms were visibly covered in dust.

We were attending a function nearby so needed a comfy room without the need to access the pool (also noting we stayed in July).
The room we stayed in was clean, a great size and had great amenities.
The king sized bed was comfortable and there was a good assortment of pillows.
Staff at check in and check out were friendly.
A great stay all round.
If we are ever back in the area we would not hesitate to stay here again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Oaks Pacific Blue Resort in Salamander Bay and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the level of service and attention to detail.

The room was immaculate, showcasing the resort's commitment to cleanliness. Although there was a busy queue at check-in, the staff handled it with exceptional efficiency, getting everyone checked in quickly. I did encounter a minor inconvenience as my room wasn’t ready upon arrival, but the team went above and beyond by offering me a late check-out, which I truly appreciated.

Traveling with a child can sometimes be challenging, but the fold-out couch in the room was surprisingly comfortable. My child had no trouble sleeping, which made our stay more enjoyable.

The resort’s pool area is nothing short of stunning. It was well-maintained and provided a perfect spot for relaxation and fun.

Dining at the resort was another highlight of our stay. The on-site restaurant is privately owned, and I can’t speak highly enough of the food and service. We enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and each meal was outstanding. The highlight was definitely happy hour, where we indulged in some incredible cocktails that were perfectly made.

Overall, my experience at Oaks Pacific Blue Resort was fantastic. The combination of clean accommodations, exceptional customer service, and delicious dining options made for a memorable getaway. I highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing stay in Salamander Bay.

My initial stay here over a year ago was marred by an unsettling incident in which a staff member unlocked and opened our door without knocking, finding my husband and me in a state of undress. The manager at the time was apologetic and assured us that both that visit and a future stay would be discounted by 50%, with an upgrade included as compensation.

Now, attempting to rebook, I encountered a staff member—Bob (or possibly Ben)—who appeared completely uninformed about this arrangement. When I tried to clarify, he responded with an unprofessional and dismissive tone, refusing to connect me with the manager or arrange for her to return my call. He continued to push what he described as a “good deal” but was evasive when asked for specifics, leaving me feeling more disregarded than accommodated. His manner was not only unhelpful but also condescending, which made this experience all the more disappointing and unprofessional.

Review of My Recent Stay
I recently stayed at this hotel and was disappointed by the overall experience. Upon arrival, I found the room inadequately cleaned, with hair in the drain, which set a negative tone. The shower temperature was uncontrollable, it’s either too hot or too cold.

The main issue was that I had paid an extra $59 for an additional bed but was shocked to find that it only had a fitted sheet, with no doona provided. When I asked the receptionist for assistance, I was informed that there were no doonas available. Instead, I was told to look for a blanket in the wardrobe, which I eventually found—only to discover it was stained and dirty.
When I brought this to the staff's attention, their response was dismissive. They suggested I complain to the supervisor in the morning, which felt unhelpful at the time. The attitude of the staff, particularly one lady, was frustrating, as she seemed more interested in lecturing me about their system rather than addressing my concerns.
Ultimately, we had to squeeze into one bed as we were left without proper bedding for my child. The following morning, I approached a different receptionist, who appeared apologetic and promised to email housekeeping about a refund for the extra bed charge. Unfortunately, I never heard back regarding that matter.
It’s clear that guest satisfaction is not a priority for this hotel. I felt more like just another number than a valued customer. I would not recommend this place if you want a stress-free stay. Save your money and avoid ruining your holiday by choosing a different hotel.

Trip was fantastic, we felt at home at your establishment and we loved the simplicity of waking up and having breakfast by the pool. The gym was a favourite too. It a great location to all the activities that the area has to offer to and felt very easy to come and go without any hassle.
