Our family arrived late in the evening (after a 12 hour drive) ant the Oaks Carlyle and the team went above and beyond to ensure we were settled quickly. Our room was lovely and clean and had everything a family needs - including the chance to wash & dry a load of washing. We highly recommend these apartments and a big thank you to John for his warm hospitality! Thank you.

We love this hotel and especially this stay. We were very weary, exhausted travellers, our day started at 3 am so made an impromptu booking & after a short delay we were in our room & it was a very welcomed reprieve. Shower a meal & sleep in a lovely cool, clean room made our day special. Thank you Oaks Carlyle Mackay. We highly recommend this hotel.

A very clean room and nicely presented but...||1. Large amounts of pigeon poo streaked down the very large bedroom window which looked pretty disgusting so I kept the curtain shut...||2. If you stay on a Saturday night, you WON'T sleep as there are teenagers causing havoc in the street below (shouting loudly and swearing and drinking) in the middle of the night...||3. Possibly an honest oversight but there was no washing up detergent or dishwasher tablets and as the office is unattended between 6pm and 9am, I couldn't get this rectified (I left for my work activities before 9 and arrived home late in the evening)

Stayed at Oaks mackay 21/8/24 location, good, modern units but we're filthy carpets stained and dirty, bathrooms mould in the showers, finger marks over all surfaces and the gauze hanging off the screen. When you pay good money expect it to be spotless.

Disappointed with our stay here. The photos online are lovely and bright, the hotel itself is not. What we could not believe was when you exited the lift to go to your room, the hallways resembled a penitentiary! Tiled floors, concrete walls, all a dull gloomy colour, solid bars on the meagre windows at the ends of the hallways and the most minimal lighting, making it dark and dreary and hard to find your room number. Not to mention cold and uninviting. No artwork, no decorator items - nothing. The 1 bdm apartment was adequate but the cleaning could be better. Walking to and from the carpark you are looking at all the rubbish bins and the cleaning gear stuffed into see-thru cages - hardly a good look. Would look elsewhere next time in Mackay. A hotel that has some atmosphere.

The apartment was very nice, was exactly what we needed for our stay. Very clean and tidy, fresh towels every day and beds remade. The wifi wasn’t the greatest especially in the bedrooms. But other than that would definitely stay again if ever back in Mackay.

Staff really lovely. Free parking onsite and room was large and had everything we needed. Also a nice big balcony also. Gym and pool aren’t anything to be excited about but perfect for what we needed for two days.
