Our server Emma was a great highlight of our experience - patient and very friendly!

Vegetarian burger was the best one I have had - maybe ever. Highly recommend it if you are a truffle fan like me! The crumbed mushroom was delicious.
Chicken schnitzel was hugggeeee!

Atmosphere is super fun in the bistro and bar areas, and the Guiness genuinely tastes better here than anywhere else in Newy.

Wow, a $10 pint'o Guinness.
Unbeatable.

And what's better, the Restaurant is run by a "Veg-friendly" chef and a vegan restaurant manager.
This means that among all your classics like the steak and Guinness pie, bangers and mash and schnittys,
there are many vegan , vegetarian and gluten free food options for everyone.
This means a vegan option for schnitzels,
VGO parmys,
a vegan katsu curry,
a pulled mushroom and jackfruit burger.
Fable mushroom and jackfruit tacos,
Vegan Jerk BBQ corn,
Vegan Buffalo cauliflower
VGO garlic butter toasted schiacciatta bread,
A chip and gravy roll, or hot chips with gravy or curry sauce.

I can confirm the "beef style" gravy is also vegan, though not labeled this was confirmed by the head chef.

Whilst the service was great and we had table service the same cannot be said about the food. I had the beef Guinness pie and it was terrible. Very very thick pasty and only three bits of meat in the filling. The rest of the meals also did not look too appealing.

We had the chicken schnitzel special last night with vegetables. Very generous serves. What stood out was the fresh veges; broccolini, zucchini, fresh beans in a light butter (and mash). Its not often pubs serve fresh veges espcially on a specials night. Service was really good too.

everywhere we go we always get bruschetta as our entree and this was hands down the best one we have ever had!
we could not fault a single part of our meals. as main meals we got the lamb cutlets with mash and veggies and the special crumbed schnitzel topped with salt and pepper squid. everything blew our mind down to the salad dressing and mash! 10/10 🙌🙌🙌🤩🤩🤩

I strongly advise caution when visiting Northern Star, especially when dealing with Keno or any gaming transactions. On 28th January, I won $21 on Keno and went to claim my winnings. A staff member scanned my ticket, told me there was no cash available, and directed me to another venue to collect. When I arrived, I was informed my ticket had already been cashed - by someone else.

This is not just bad service, it appears to be outright dishonesty. I immediately emailed the management with full details and proof, yet no one has bothered to respond. If management refuses to address issues involving potential staff misconduct, it raises serious concerns about the integrity of this establishment.

Patrons deserve fair treatment, honesty, and accountability. Unfortunately, that’s not what I found here.
