Was a good way to fill in time while waiting to catch a flight on a Sunday afternoon. They have entertainment on Sundays 2-5pm which helps. It is a large modern venue and is okay, but does not have a great deal of atmosphere. I would go again if I had to kill some time.

I am actually so impressed by this place!! I thought everyone was overhyping it but no the vibes are immaculate. The service was awesome and helpful, plenty of parking. Great TV for sports and pretty good menu. They even had 1800 coconut tequila my favourite 👍🏻 they also do meat trays, which we won first time going that was also exciting

Used to love this place- Thought it had the best chicken fried burger in Townsville. But they changed the Burger. My first one was burnt, and taste of charcoal, and my second, after they kindly remade it, was drowned in cheese sauce. It never used to have that, and now it's awful and I couldn't even eat half.

Don't know when I'll be back, but aside from the food, the staff and atmosphere are nice.

Beautiful dinner and atmosphere. Our favourite place and whenever my family is in town, it is theirs too. Highly highly recommend!

Photo of dinner recently. Mac and Cheese Croquettes for entree, rump steak with veges, chips and mushroom sauce and T-bone steak with salad, chips and Dianne sauce. Lemon lime bitters and pina colada.

Could do a lot worse if you're after a pub style feed. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food is excellent in very generous sized portions, and you can take leftovers home. Service was very helpful.

One side of the establishment is wide open to outside so flies can congregate inside where we were sitting. Also no table QR ordering.

Edited: The lack of QR code table ordering is not a complaint. Just a comment informing potential patrons. Definitely not a factor which negatively impacted the occasion.

Aa a whole definitely recommended.

Food isn’t too bad, the chicken burger came back burnt more than coal twice. Chicken parmigiana is banging though, overall pretty good.

We have been visiting here since it opened. 90% of the time we have a great time with great food and drinks. But, unfortunately, there have been times where we are left disappointed.
We have noticed the female chef is constantly on her phone? Phones have the most amount of bacteria why is she touching it then the food..
We went last week and were the first ones to order. We watched as the the people behind us starting get meals and went up and they advised it was an error and the order didn’t print. That’s okay, it happens. The problem was, after we identified the issue they buzzed us 15 minutes later to ask us what flavour we wanted our wings to be and to confirm the sides for a meal? I figured it was on the order receipt? After waiting almost an hour the food came out wrong. The steak sandwich was missing beetroot which we paid extra for and also the side of sauce. The crumbed steak had salad when it was asked twice to not have salad. Just things like that is really disappointing. The staff member apologised which we appreciated but I feel like we should have been offered a partial refund or some kind of compensation for the inconvenience
We will still come back as we are Burdell residents. But basically just expect it to be good one time and then bad the next.
Please talk to the lady chef about being on the phone though? Superrrrrr unhygienic

We’ve been loyal patrons of the Northshore Tavern since its early days, drawn by the welcoming atmosphere and high-quality food. However, over the past eight months, we’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of meals, which has been disappointing.

Today, my husband ordered a $40 scotch fillet steak, but a third of it was inedible due to excessive fat and gristle. Similarly, the switch from chicken breast to thigh in dishes has been frustrating, especially in healthier meal choices such as the salads, where a lean protein is expected. Even the poke bowl ($20), which I’ve moved to due to the chicken thigh being used, has become inconsistent, with smaller portions and ingredients like raw cabbage dominating the dish.

Another issue is the lack of flexibility when ordering pizzas online. At $20+ per pizza, it’s frustrating that we are not being able to adjust ingredients to suit preferences.

Overall, the food quality has fallen short of the pricing, which is disappointing given the high standards we experienced in the Tavern’s first twelve months of being open. While we hope to see improvements, we’ve decided to dine elsewhere for now.

We hope management takes this feedback on board, as the Tavern was once a fantastic dining option.
