We stayed 2 nights. Parking in front of the cabin. Small living room, kitchen and dining table. Shower a bit cramped but alright. Two small bed rooms with good matras and airco! Nice area to sit outside. The cabins are a bit dated and could do with a makeover. Also cleaning could be done better. Overall two pleasant nights and comfortable stay in beautiful Nitmiluk NP. Take the gorge cruise and spoil yourself with a dinner at Cicada lounge.

Hubby & I booked Nitmulik campground with high expectations given the flashy website & price point, $70 per night for powered site.||The amenities here are atrocious and I've just travelled up the entire Stuart Highway. We stayed at Roadhouses with better amenities. ||All the hot water taps have been removed. The showers have insufficient changing spaces, no benches, two hooks & a rusty old one I almost cut myself on. The soap dispensers do not work. I took to going to the toilet at the Visitors Centre, as they were very nicely kept (of course).||Nitmiluk Campground has a beautiful pool area & cafe, which would've cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, no outside food or drink allowed in though. ||Cannot believe they spent all that money on a pool but could not upgrade the amenities block. ||We had an otherwise beautiful time here, Gorge tour & the lovely bird life. ||Do not stay here if you like comfortable amenities, stay in town. ||If the price was $40 I'd not be writing this scathing review.

The location and surroundings are very good
the gorge, the viewpoint and the numerous hiking trails are all nearby. The cabins are well-equipped. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Check-in was easy, staff were friendly and helpful. The campgrounds had plenty of trees and shade, but when we located our site-there wasn’t a tree within any close proximity to our site or the other powered sites around us. Given the harsh temps, our van remained very hot. We were booked for 2 nights, but stayed 1 as the condition of the facilities was poor and unmaintained. The amenities were old which is OK, but they were not clean or well kept. No bench to place clean dry items or toiletries - had to go on the wet floors. The camp kitchen had pools of fat from the BBQ that sat on the concrete and weren’t cleaned up. The overflow fat pots for these bbq’s were plastic cups (fire & burn hazard) Purchased dinner from the pool cafe and thoroughly enjoyed the meals. The campground is close to the gorge for walks or tours, which is convenient. The gorge tour was fabulous and our indigenous guide provided an entertaining & very informative tour. The gorges are fantastic to see and the ease of getting around the pathways was a credit to Nitmiluk Tours. They have been very well planned and constructed. Just a pity the accommodation & facilities weren’t better.

Booked a cabin for a two night stay, very disappointed the cabin was tired needed refurbishment, very close together with no space around. Sheets and towels that were once white, showed their age and were rough. Air conditioner dripped water onto the bed. The television didn’t work. Trip hazard on the wooden veranda through rotten edge. The shower door was broken and displayed a rather disgusting brownness at the bottom when opened. The pool area whilst fairly attractive and with good shade and loungers etc let itself down through murky water and leaves and such like floating and lying on the bottom. The “Jatti Pool” restaurant said to offer a unique outdoor dining experience in the leaflet was little more than an over priced fast food cafe of the worst kind. Having ordered barramundi was presented with a burnt outer and nearly raw inner with some chips.Certainly no where near the quality I have usually experienced in other parts of Australia. When asked if they could respond to an allergy in one dish by removing the ingredient the “chef” merely said no “It comes like that” . In a packet and shoved in the oven or microwave methinks!!!. We did eat in the visitor centre Cafe one morning which wasn’t too bad. It is such a shame acknowledging other negative reviews this place could be really, really great and give the sort of service that the environment justifies. It just stinks of rip off and seems to rely on the nearby tours that provide such a different experience for most people.|We did the two gorges tour and that was exceptional.

We were a little anxious having read some of the reviews after booking but, stayed the full four nights as planned, and quite enjoyed ourselves. |Negatives - |- the amenities block certainly requires an upgrade / work done. Most showers leaked and only a couple worked. In saying that, they were always clean and replenished. No issues with water pressure or temp in the ones that worked. |- the powered sites are very small. With a camper trailer set up, we felt quite tight, particularly with others all around. |- the second row / set of numbers is backwards and caused confusion and frustration daily as people came and left. ||Positives - |- the grounds themselves are lovely.|- the pool area is gorgeous, frightfully cold, but it gave our family hours of entertainment. The bar and bistro were also a hit.|- we did the three gorge tour and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The guide was knowledgeable, experienced and very enjoyable company. |- the hikes are great, although admittedly we didn’t get to do too much of this. ||Lastly, not the site’s fault, but despite several bars, don’t expect to be able to use your devices.

Is a good back to nature place to stay. Bugs are expected but kitchen can be cleaner. Is near the boat ride.
