Neurum Creek Retreat surprised me in all the best ways. For someone scarred by a history of camping trips that were more ordeal than escape, I came in skeptical, but I left wishing I could stay longer.

The sprawling 312-acre site offers plenty of breathing room, even on a busy long weekend. The spaces are so well spread out that we could talk loudly around our campfire and blast our favourite tunes without triggering the ire of a neighbouring campsite. Shade is plentiful throughout the grounds, but if you're looking for particularly shady spots within the campgrounds, sites D19-22 are worth checking out.

We had a big group - ten adults and eleven kids, ranging from 3 to 16 - a loud, chaotic crew with endless energy. But the grounds handled us with no trouble at all. There were bike tracks for the kids who couldn’t sit still, hiking trails for the adventurous, and 1.5 kilometers of creek frontage for anyone needing to cool off or just relax by the water.

The creek became our oasis, perfect for setting up eskies and coolcabanas while we swam and unwound for hours. Nearby, just a short drive away, Rocky Hole adds to the experience - a beautiful swimming spot carved into the granite gullies of Mount Mee. With cool water and spots for rock-jumping, it’s a favorite for good reason. The off-road track to get there can be a bit tricky - we managed in a Honda CRV by taking it slow, but in wet or muddy conditions, you’ll definitely need a 4WD.

There are plenty of campfire spots scattered across the Neurum Creek grounds, ensuring most campers can enjoy this essential part of the experience. The site is dog-friendly and well-maintained, with showers and toilets that were impressively clean (even the long drops).

Neurum Creek isn’t just a campsite; it’s a sanctuary to escape from the grind, unplug, hang out with friends and family, and enjoy the outdoors.

Gorgeous Location, The creek has huge areas of shade throughout the day to escape the heat.

Generous size sites with plenty of room, we had 4 swags, a 6x3 gazebo, the car and trailer, and there was plenty of room to sit around the fire still.

Overall, it was a lovely spot, with well-kept grounds, fair prices, and a beautiful location.

I had a great time camping here. The site offers a beautiful view and is conveniently close to a creek with a nice walking track. However, it’s worth noting that the area is quite compact, and it can get really busy during school holidays. Overall, a lovely spot for a getaway, but plan ahead if you prefer a quieter experience.

Great camp ground along the creek with plenty of water flowing and close to brisbane. Camp facilities are drop toilets but clean and don't smell like others. Hot showers were great. We had a large site for 2 families which did say 'wheel blocks will be required to level caravans, trailers' but there were no flat spots for tents or even a table and chairs (cups slid off the tables, sleeping bags slid off mattresses), site A5. I recommend you confirm if the site you book is flat enough to camp on comfortably.

This is a great dog friendly camp ground on a beautiful stream. Surrounded by lots of shady trees and great amenities available for convenience. Must be a least 100 good sized spacious sites. Loved it.

The place was great for our first camping trip with my sons. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the location was ideal. The only downside was the rain, which limited some activities.

Stayed here this last weekend and it's beautiful. The creek was lovely (very suitable to sit in and cool down), grounds well maintained, nice and clean toilet block (inc hot showers), plus Colleen and the team very helpful. A lovely quiet campground with heaps of stars showing at night; what more could you ask for?!
