Lovely setting for a meal or coffee, spacious verandah overlooking the botanic gardens. Unfortunately the coffee (regular size double shot flat white $6 each) was pretty average, and would not re order.
Interesting display of botanical art, helpful information staff

After visiting the Cooktown Museum we thought we would have lunch at the botanical gardens and then walk around the powerhouse and gardens. We got there at 1.30pm to experience someone waking out after being abused by the cafe staff. She had been rudely told that the kitchen was closed now as they had not had much custom but she may make her a coffee and a cake if she liked. After being abused she said she would rather take her money elsewhere. As we were a hungry family of 4 we disappointingly decided to leave and find somewhere else to eat.
