Great little cafe tucked away in a quiet residential area of Normanhurst. Service and atmosphere was great and so enjoyable! There’s a small playground and a basketball hoop just outside/next to the cafe where kids can safely play.

Food was of decent quality and fairly priced. Would definitely return in the future!

Myrtle Street Grind is just so good. Housed in an old school suburban strip of shops, this is surely a treasured cafe by Normanhurst locals. The towering gums provide the perfect backdrop to this cafe. For the kids there's swings literally 10 metres from the front, and there's a gated play area too. Onto the coffee, and it was sublime. Myrtle Street Grind uses beans from Bassett Espresso and the flat white I had was fruity, sweet and rich. Onto the food and there are hints of Japanese flavours. The smashed avo was gorgeously presented and was fresh and herbaceous yet perfectly balanced. The katsu sandwich was amazing. Katsu can sometimes be heavy and oily, but at Myrtle, it is light with a kick of wasabi coming through and the slaw cutting through panko crumbed chicken.
We are coming back real soon to try some more of the menu. Service is awesome and you can dine inside to escape the sun or sit outside and take in the rays with your coffee.

A hidden gem. Great coffee. A place with a good local vibe. Be warned! The owner is an Arsenal fan.

I recently moved to this area and heard about a highly rated café nearby. After a visit, I got why everyone rated so there. The coffee is carefully brewed one cup at a time, the staff are friendly and helpful, and perfect atmosphere to read books. There are some Japanese-taste foods in a menu. I ordered a katsu sandwich and it was crispy and very yummy with a mustardy paste.

Great cafe tucked away in a quiet street in Normanhurst. Tried a Bahn Mi and a Japanese Katsu Sandwich, both were fresh and tasty. The Phil's Brewed Chai with soy milk was excellent. Enjoy.

It is rare for a neighbourhood to have a cute little cafe all to itself like Myrtle street grind. A true local favourite. The coffee is great and the owner super lovely. The menu offers a good variety of nuanced spins on traditional cafe foods which is a treat and awesome. The service however is always just a bit too slow even for simple things like warming something and a coffee which is a shame as it’s doesn’t seem to change regardless of staff numbers on the day or how quiet they are.
Definitely go there as there is a nice park and bushwalk adjacent which you can kill time at or visit after.

This is a great neighbourhood cafe. Nice relaxed vibe, very friendly and welcoming staff. The kids had the toasties and a milkshake which they really enjoyed. The peri peri halloumi burger had a delicious sauce. Also tried the acai bowl which was good but would have liked the açai a little firmer in consistency and maybe a little more toppings. Coffee was excellent. Everything was made up fresh to order and reasonably priced. Worth a visit if in the area.

At this charming and friendly café, the coffee reigns supreme—a true standout in the area. Pair it with their expertly crafted bacon and egg rolls—warm buns, piping hot eggs, and perfectly crispy bacon.
While the indoor seating is somewhat limited, the outdoor space offers a delightful setting. Just remember to visit when the weather is pleasant for the ultimate experience!
