I love their pies, but I can't give it a 5-star review until the menu gets expanded with a proper vegetarian pie, so I can bring my wife some as well. Eating a pie alone is sad. There's veggie pasties already, but something like a nice spicy veggie curry pie or rich red wine mushroom pie would really round out the selection. (and meat eaters love them as well - I do)

Absolutely rate it! Snoked fish pie and the apple crumble were my go tos. It's a cute like shop where you can see them make the pies. They also offer frozen pies (great for me since I'm not from NZ).

Have been to Muzzas pies on a number of occasions now and have always been pleased with the quality of food. It’s not really a place to sit down and stay but good food for a reasonable price and close to everything. The pies have chunky steak and plenty of flavour. Also do take away frozen pies which would be good to take home! All in all would recommend!

Smiling Asian aunty who served me apologetically told me they had sold out of chicken brie asparagus so couldn't bring another one home. I had gotten the last one. Must be a popular flavor. I was there on a Tuesday at 2pm.
Flaky pastry. Not too salty. Nice hint of asparagus. Has a homemade taste. Quite a decent size for $7.
They also sell frozen versions for $3.50 which I saw the gentleman behind me take. In fact he bought 9.
Not a sit down place. Street side parking

Went on a little pie crawl and our first stop was Muzza's (Gourmet) Pies in Coorparoo.

Their best sellers are reportedly the various chunky steak options, but we were also recommended the chicken, brie & asparagus pie ($6), and that's what we went with. The boy wanted a party pie ($2) so we got one of those too.

Verdict: kinda wished we went with a chunky steak option instead, cos this chicken pie, whilst an ok choice, wasn't a real standout. The brie wasn't too obvious, but then again I guess it's not a strong cheese to begin with.

The pastry itself was pretty good - flaky top and sides/base not too dense. With all pies at $6 or less, I'd be happy to return and try some other flavours.

Unfortunately an underwhelming couple of pies 🥧

Flavour - 1/10
No flavour distinction between a Steak & cheese pie and a Chicken & Mushroom pie. Lacked seasoning on meat and gravy components.

Filling - 2/10
The combination of meat and gravy for both pies was a weird texture and lacked seasoning/flavour.

Crust - 4/10
Top crust was great texture and flakiness. The bottom was slightly overcooked.

Eatability - 2/10
Pie did not hold after first bite - burst out the top/side. Too much filling which wouldn't be a bad thing if the filling tasted good.

Overall Pie Rating - 2/10
I'm not sure the outcome would be any different if I tried any of their other pies. The representation of pie is below average or less than a Four'n'Twenty pie from a servo or 7-11 in the middleof the day.

I went in with my mother today and I couldn’t decide what I wanted. The person at the counter (I suspect the owner) was very considerate and patient and after I finally ordered he added an extra small sausage roll free of charge. It was very kind and I can’t thank the owner enough.
