We recently had the pleasure of staying in the Lakeview Cabin at Mistere for a weekend getaway. The cabin itself was very spacious, clean, and tidy upon arrival with a nice outdoor kitchen to sit and relax. We arrived quite late in the evening on the first night and awoke to the beautiful surrounds of nature overlooking the fountain lake and birds chirping.
The driveway access to the property is quite steep in some sections, however we managed okay despite the rain. There are walking trails located across the property which we didn’t get a chance to explore due to extreme winds, but the cabin was so cozy that we didn’t want to leave anyway. The business has recently undergone a change of ownership with new management on site. The owners provided us with all the information that we needed prior to arrival and were highly responsive to all queries that we had during our stay.
Overall a fantastic stay, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Our recent stay at this romantic rainforest retreat was amazing. Pure magic.
Our villa was a perfect blend of modern luxury and rustic charm. The open-air kitchen area really let us connect with the rainforest, and provided plenty of indoor/outdoor space for relaxation.
The owner/manager was exceptional, and very responsive, making sure that all of our needs were met during our stay.
Exploring the nearby rainforest walking track was a real highlight.
In short, easily a 5-star stay just outside of Murwillumbah. We can't wait to return to this rainforest paradise.

I dont usually leave reviews but feel like this needs to be said. We booked last minute directly through Di as it was considerably cheaper than AirBNB over the Easter weekend just gone. The reviews of poor communication were a bit excessive as I found Di did get back to me relatively promptly. What was an issue though firstly was the access to the Waterfall and Fountain view Lodges. It was a few weeks after the area has had bad rains, and it did rain the day prior to our arrival which is noones fault. But the borderline 4x4 access road to the lodges in the mud in a sedan was pretty sketchy and the last hill up to the cabin was completely undriveable (I attempted it in my sedan and lost a mud guard) so we had to park in visitor parking and walk in the rain... bit annoying but not that bad. The area firstly is very lush and stunning and a great place to unwind. The lodge upon entering was quite nice visually but very damp. The bathroom which is very nice, hasnt been built level, and because of this all the water from the shower pools under the sink away from the drain so youll need to spend a few minutes pushing all the water down the drain with your feet. By the third day my gf and I started feeling unwell. I had moved the bedside drawer to make more space and noticed the rear of it was covered in mould, as were inside the bedside drawers, and the cutlery drawer in the kitchen. Pretty piss poor hygiene standards for a romantic getaway charging few hundred a night. We ended up leaving early because of how ill we felt which I assume is from living in a mouldy cabin for 3 days. I send photos as evidence and mentioned all this to the manager requesting some kind of reimbursement for the poor hygiene standards, never got a reply, so here I am making a public review.
The mould may be fixed in the future but definitely consider taking a 4x4/AWD here, especially if its the wet season.

The setting gave a relaxed and romantic atmosphere. The accommodation was clean, had a fire place and a spa bath with a gorgeous windows out to the rainforest! The on site bush walk was beautiful however hiking shoes are necessary as the ground is not even. The service was friendly and the breakfast basket delicious! There was also a microwave and BBQ and plenty of kitchen items should you choose to cook and not leave your delightful isolation. We stayed in a room with a view to the lilly pond.
