I stayed here during a conference and enjoyed my time at this cheep and cheerful venue. The water views are lovely and there is a long pier, perfect to sit on at night and enjoy a pizza from the Newport across the road. ||The conference catering was a real surprise - it was great food! I normally have pretty low gastronomic expectations for these type of events but I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was not good, however. ||The room was fine, basic but comfortable. The extra blanket I used had some kind of dark stain on it and was tattered around the edges.

Quite dated in terms of decor and facilities, but clean and fine for cheap no frills situation. The location is fantastic, access to many beaches and lovely views.

Would not recommend. The room I had must be the one they always rent out as I’ve seen the same comments. Duct tape on the spa, dust built up on the carpet and vents. Cheap $10 fan. I couldn’t even sleep from the smell of the room. Had a very musty, mouldy smell. The guy at reception was unfriendly and yes, I heard the people behind me also ask why a $100 deposit was taken. There’s no mini bar so no reason for it. The couch was so filthy I wouldn’t sit on it. For $250 a night?!? Would have rather slept in my car.

Poor checkin , the staff were not very welcoming-- credit card pre authorization for undisclosed amount - turned out to be $100 even though our room was prepaid in full. Wouldn’t have minded had we been told ! Not recorded on our receipt either ! Room was ok but the whole building was very tired looking. We had their top suite snd the view was the best part. The spa bath had no bath salts there was no body wash and the other toiletries were not anything special., one washer and one cake of soap. we had two coffee mugs two wine glasses and two tumblers- no side plates for nibbles no serviettes. No cutlery. No toaster or bowls for cereal no bottled water . A microwave would have been nice to heat a quick cereal etc as not everyone wants to go out for breakfast as no meals are served at the motel. There was no information booklet in the room and we had to ask where things were located. |We have managed motels and luxury establishments and know how customers need to be treated. I really think for the cost this place needs to up its game. The whole place needs a total refurbishment.

My family and I stayed here in December. Unfortunately we had not a great experience. The rooms were quite old ( which is fine), but this were also dirty and smelt like cigarettes.

To top it off, we paid a security deposit of $100 which we are still waiting for from December. Our bank has had to raise it as a dispute.

A reel shame because it’s in a beautiful spot.

Quite disappointed in our stay. Certainly wouldn't say 4⭐️. Cheap $10.00 Kmart fans in the suite. Portable cooling system installed on the floor with exhaust leading out the window. It was very noisy all night. Buffet breakfast was appaulling. Very little to choose from, food quality was uneatable. We left and went to a cafe across the road. Parking was ridiculous.
We won't be hurrying back.

After reading the reviews I was sceptical about the cleanliness of the place, I even bought my own sheets and cleaning products but I was pleasantly surprised by my stay. I stayed one night for a wedding in the Newport Room. I can’t say the room wasn’t in need of a good spring clean, with marks on the curtains and some dust in the cupboards but all the important things were spotless. The sheets were clean and the bed quite comfortable. The bathroom was outdated but perfectly clean. Overall I was happy with my stay, it got the job done!
