Comfortable bed, good size apartment. Did not use the kitchen so can’t comment on the items. When we arrived all windows and the balcony sliding door was open. Both air conditioners in lounge room on as well. We also found a pink balloon. I called reception, as I thought someone might have been using apartment. They were great, offered a new room. They said it was their policy to leave sliding door open and air conditioners on ….. I was surprised by this as the other times I’ve stayed at Meritons Ive never had a room open on arrival. Lounge sofa was dirty as well, needs a good dry clean. All in all a good stay. Close to everything. Pool and spa great. Nice and warm.

I wanted to give 1 star due to the lift situation but the bed was so comfortable that they get 4 stars. ||The building is shared (I think? If not, then they don't seem to have enough lifts for the number of hotel guests they have) so there are people other than hotel guests using the 5 lifts. The system is one where you scan your card or note what level you are going to and you are allocated a lift. When we arrived there were no lifts available so we had to wait until other guests had gone before we could even be allocated a lift. It was probably only 10 minutes all up but that is a long time when you've been awake for 48 hours and just want to get settled so you can get some food and be asleep by 8pm. Waiting for the lifts was common during our stay. ||Given that the main thing we were doing in the hotel was sleeping it was much appreciated that the bed was so comfortable. After 2 weeks of crappy mattresses this felt like heaven - pillow top but firm enough underneath and a nice warm doona. We travel with our own pillows so I can't really comment on the pillow situation. They were long and didn't seem like memory foam.||The rest of the facilities were fine. Comfortable enough but we were out and about most days. We booked this because of the washing machine/dryer and because there was no house keeping. Good hair dryer. Bathroom was pokey but functional. Water leaked out of the shower so much that the mat was soaked, but we just put it in the dryer. Blackout blinds throughout the whole unit was handy.||I'd think twice about staying here again but might be able to overlook the lift situation due to how comfortable the bed was.

Location was fantastic. We took public transport/walked everywhere including from the airport. Great food options around.

We weren't able to check in early but we did have a tea in the arrivals lounge which was nice.

Had a few conversations with other guests regarding how slow the elevators were. I found myself mentally adding a buffer for how long the elevator would take to arrive.

I would stay again. I liked the room - it had a good layout. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. Felt clean (mostly, were some crumbs on the table) and felt pretty modern and spacious. No clue if there was some trick to the curtains but it felt like a wrestling match every time I had to open and close them. Air-conditioning was very good. Washer and dryer worked well and I liked that washing liquid was provided. Kitchen seemed pretty well stocked regarding cooking utensils but we didn't end up using them, although I would have appreciated some milk.

I liked the bed. It was a good plushness level without being too soft or firm. Pillows were nice as well and overall very spacious. There was only a powerpoint on one side of the bed, the other side had one on the opposite wall which was quite inconvenient. I honestly have no clue why all hotels don't have powerpoints in their bedside tables at this stage.

The bathroom was spacious and I thought the hairdryer was very good. I would have liked a small mirror at the desk to do my makeup.

Pool area and sauna was very nice, although the spa was very much on the cool side. Warm enough to be pleasant but not ideal if you were looking for some heat to relax muscles with.

I had a few interactions with various staff members and I found them all delightful.

Had a great weekend during vivid in an altitude suite, we made use of the pool and spa that were a lovely temperature for winter and plenty of towels were always stocked to use, the room was lovely with a great view comfortable beds and quiet. There is plenty of places to get coffee, food, drinks nearby.
A short walk to imax and darling square where we enjoyed a few meals and fun. We booked again for next year and recommend it.

Our experience at Meriton was extremely disappointing. We reserved two two-bedroom apartments well in advance and received confirmation that they would be next to each other. However, when we arrived, we were informed that our rooms were 18 floors apart. When we questioned this discrepancy, we were rudely told that room assignments are subject to availability, despite having received prior confirmation. The staff member was not interested in seeing the confirmation received. Once it became apparent that one room was on a high floor, my friend enquired if a lower or adjacent room was available, and that room was subsequently changed to a room only 5 levels lower than the other room. It was baffling why we weren’t initially assigned closer rooms after the booking issue. Furthermore, when the entry cards were simply handed to us with no explanation of hotel amenities, how to use the cards, or access information, all we got was a brief "have a nice stay." The cards then failed to work in the lifts for us to get up to our rooms and our enquiry was met with an unhelpful attitude from the staff, it only added to our frustration. To top it off, there wasn’t even cold water in the fridge upon arrival. We definitely won’t be staying there again.

Always have a lovely time when we stay here. Our suite has always been ready on our arrival, even an hour early (but please remember this may not be always so. We have just been lucky ) Staff are approachable and ensure our stay is nice. Guest services (housekeeping) were available when we had requests, such as changing the small bin under the kitchen counter. The views from the top floor ( level 56) are what you would expect from being in the city, you can watch the sunset and sunrise, view the city night lights and yes you do have some water views.
The only issue is with the Chromecast, but I am thinking this may be due to the amount of guests accessing it ...around the same time and the load of this may be too much for chromecast to cope. So maybe a iPad or small laptop for the kids or yourself for nighttime viewing.

Remember luxury can be different for individuals. I think it sits within the range of luxury for the age of the hotel. Oh and make sure your suitcase is not overly heavy ...it's a workout going up those stairs to the bedrooms in the 3 bedroom altitude suite 😂.
Reading other reviews - the elevator - you have people in and out of the elevators all day, of course body odours are going to be flowing through the air! So yes there will be a smell at times ...it's an enclosed space, except when the doors open. If you care to ever look up in the top corner of the elevators it has a air deodoriser that will occasionally spray ' room deodorant" to help try and eliminate or lessen the effects of all our body odours. Now if someone released a gaseous flatulence ...yeah that would be annoying to the sense smell 😅
The spa and pool were both clean and the spa had enough chlorine to conquer all germs in the whole of Sydney.
Yes the king sized bedrooms are formed by have two single beds put together. I thought this would be common knowledge....seems not for some people. Many hotels worked this way and even cruise ships. Single beds are easier to move around for housekeeping than a king sized bed!

Have loved staying at the meriton suites, can highly recommend the Thai place to the left of the entrance, fantastic food! There is also a lot of other places to eat as on the edge of Chinatown, also loads of shops around, multiple shopping malls. QVB is not far either. Neither is Hyde park. Everything is walkable, public transport right round the corner, light train and town hall train station. Bondi takes 30 mins by train then bus. Maroubra took 35/40 mins by bus. |The apartment is lovely, very clean, big fridge freezer, a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, microwave, hob. I recommend getting one with a balcony. The gym is small and basic but enough equipment to get a good workout. Haven’t used the swimming pool but every time I go past there are kids in the hot tub so it put me off using it. |Would definitely stay here again.

The location is convenient, just around the corner from the vibrant “Chinatown” end of George Street, with World Square, supermarkets and restaurants abounding in the area. Darling Harbour and the QV building are close by and Circular Quay is a short tram ride away.||The reception staff were always pleasant staff and our 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment had all the usual Meriton amenities: a full kitchen (including full stove/oven, large refrigerator), laundry facilities, TVs in both bedrooms as well as in the living area. The bathrooms were good. Perhaps the furniture was just a little bland but it was very adequate, and the beds were good..||But sometimes there was a few minutes wait for a lift, even at what seemed to be quiet times. I was left wondering if the computerised control system needed some fine-tuning.
