Staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms require some maintenance - I had to switch rooms as the AC wasn't working in the first one. Also the chromecast in both rooms didn't work.

Pleasant stay otherwise - accommodation is what you expect for the price.

I spent a wonderful 5 days with Mercure it was so relaxing and comfortable, I had a really nice room, I didn't notice the traffic and my room faced their large grassed area. Breakfast was good and had a lot of options and the sparking water tap was ideal for me and I could reflll as much as I wanted, snacks and meals were yummy.

We stayed here for an overnight stop from Grafton to Melbourne. It wasn't the first time we've done this but it will be the last, as the standard has definitely dropped despite prices going up.

Extremely poor housekeeping: Dirty marks on back of door and bathroom light switch; a layer of dust on bench top; no toilet brush; no hand towel in the bathroom; a mueslie bar on the floor under the bed.

It took us a while to work our what the horrible smell in the room was. We eventually worked out that a previous guest must have cooked some type of vegetable soup or something in the kettle. (I managed to replace the kettle in the morning with the assistance of the Asst Manager. About the only saving grace for our stay.)

The thermostat knob on the fridge was broken so there was no way of controlling the fridge temperature. The freezer was almost completely unusable because of the amount of ice that had formed in it.

The light switches for the over the bed lights had dimmer switches but they didn't work because the wrong LED globes had been used.

The rod to draw the curtains open & closed was so short that my partner couldn't reach it.

The body wash dispenser in the bathroom was full but was defective and wouldn't dispense anything.

Premium price for a very, very disappointing and sub-standard room.

I have stayed at this hotel 8 times this year, for a total of over 70 nights, so I feel like I have a very good view of this place.

The good:
- Staff at reception are very helpful and friendly
- Everything you need, from room service to on site washing and drying and restaurants/pub at club next door
- Location is great, right by motorway, shopping mall and supermarkets close by

The Bad:
- The housekeeping is extremely hit or miss. The coffee cups in the room are ALWAYS dirty, it is impossible to clean those plastic cups they should not be used.
- The cutlery and whiteware usually has food on it. I use the plates and cutlery from the breakfast buffet, always to find it just rinsed and put in cupboard with food still on it. I would be happy to do my own dishes, but there are no cleaning supplies and this is also a hotel.
- Bed sheets will most likely not be changed, even if I stay 7 nights in a row. Bed is also never made to original state of first night. Towels also have no guarantee of being replaced daily
- Overall cleanliness of every room is bad, bathroom grout looks like a run down motel

Overall I guess it’s fine for the price, but if my work wasn’t choosing the accommodation I’d be looking elsewhere

Might be a new name but…

Only positives - free parking and self check-in. Arrived late, a few people in line waiting to be served. 1 guy at reception, 1 guy in the back doing nothing but on the computer.
So we noticed self check-in and checked ourselves in, much quicker.
Lift is slow, small and definitely needs to be replaced as it jerks a lot.

Room was on the second floor room 229 - this was an executive queen room, paid roughly $10 more. Bed was comfy, decor was ok. But the bathroom was dirty, grimy and needed a good deep clean or a whole new bathroom renovation. Dirt on the walls in the bathroom, shower head was spraying out water from the top. Toilet is far too low.

Last time I stayed here it was a Travelodge and I had a better experience then, than I had when I stayed.
Book elsewhere, don’t waste your time, money or energy on the hotel.

Warm welcome from staff on the 24th June. Great location for what I required to do. 3 nights stay and beds were comfortable, Workers club is good value and very handy next door. Breakfast was included in my stay price and was ample selection and easy to access.

We have stayed at this accommodation in the past when it was travel lodge and it has definitely become a neglected property .A attempt to make it look eco friendly by the reuse of room coffee cups in a measure to be ' green and environmentally saving was just inconvenient. Not enough staff to man the breakfast area resulting in a lack of clearing of used tables and crockery and uncleaned spills at food stations. In these times of cross contamination with viruses , it was just not good enough to see ladle spoons floating in fruit because of the Bain Marie setup.

Light fixtures in disrepair in hallways , old tired carpet, and a marked dirty sofa in our room was just not appealing for the price of the accommodation.
However, the bed was comfortable , the shower pace roomy and the water pressure great.
The location is convenient with access to all major roadways and the club is conveniently situated for food options .I just think that a revamp is needed and this woke environment friendly theme is a joke.

I had a great time staying at mercure. The breakfast buffet was a bit overpriced considering the range that was available. The beds were comfortable, the room was spacious and well equipped. A stove would have been good to have to cook when we didn't want to eat out.
