This is my second time staying at this hotel. I am very satisfied with the staff, they are also very friendly. However, I am very disappointed this time. The front desk staff are quite cold and their service attitude is not very pleasant. The most important thing is that the corridors and rooms of this hotel have a strong musty smell that cannot be eliminated even when the door is opened. After staying in the hotel for a long time, these odors can cause headaches, and this moldy smell is harmful to health. The self-service breakfast was also very good when I first checked in, but this time there was no self-service breakfast. I'm disappointed. Next time, this shouldn't be my first choice

We had a fabulous experience with the staff at the Mercure Cairns. Miki went above and beyond every day for us to find reservations, get restaurant suggestions, and took care of any issue with our room. ||Patricia in the restaurant made sure we enjoyed each night’s happy hour. ||Stephen went above and beyond to ensure an issue with our room’s smoke detector was handled quickly so we were not too inconvenienced.

The Mercure hotel is in the centre of Cairns. It is showing its age, much like the Ramada across the road. The air conditioner was not working in the lift during our stay. Would not probably be my first choice next time I am in Cairns. Fridges don’t work properly in rooms. No ice. king bed kept separating during the night. Pillows are hard and uncomfortable. Romantic package is a scam. Overall stay somewhere else.

Obliging and helpful staff esp. with wheelchair husband, altho' I had to get him out of wheelchair and transfer to a chair to fold the wheelchair to get it through the doorway, then reposition him back in the wheelchair - and the small lip on the 2nd floor elevator entrance was difficult to get the wheelchair over into the lift. Ramps and lifts are provided for accessibility, which is good - and our room was spacious. Room service food was most enjoyable and portions were very generous. If you need USB charging take your own power board, pc or 3-pin/usb adapter - in our room wall sockets were for 3-pin plugs. The air con dripped onto the floor. The edges of the bed were soft so you felt like you were sliding off when sitting on it, but the bed was comfortable to sleep in and the bedding was cool and comfortable. Location is very handy - across the road from Cairns Aquarium and Ramsay Day Surgery. We could cross the roads with our push wheelchair thanks to pedestrian lights and good pavements with ramps. Cairns Central is close by. For a central city location, during our stay (Monday and Tuesday nights) the area was quiet at night. Taken on balance, our stay was very satisfactory. We enjoyed the convenient location, definitely the food, and our thanks go to the extremely helpful staff who were always friendly and willing to assist.

We stayed only one night. We got a Loft room. The check in was easy, and the room was easy to navigate to.|the loft room is well set up, it has a nice kitchenette and sofa and balcony downstairs. a nice soft bed,(very comfortable), a spa bath, and a bathroom upstairs. it is evidently a bit of an older hotel and will need some renovation, but it is comfortable and meets our needs.|The Stairs are very narrow and curved, so I would not reccomend this room if you like to drink alcohol, or are not as good at navigating stairs in the dark as you would like to be.|location is perfect. only about 4-5 blocks from anywhere worth going at the most. 2 blocks from the esplanade and one block from the aquariam.|our airconditioner was leaking, but we let them know and i ams sure it will be fixed for the future.||We didnt use the pool as we had a spa bath in our room.|after check out they let us store our luggage for a few hours which was very nuice as our next flight wasnt until much later that evening.

When in Cairns, I like to stay away from The Esplanade, where things can get a little - shall we say - vigorous. The Mercure is close enough to all the major attractions to be within walking distance, and far away enough from the nightspots to be quiet.||The rooms are large, clean, air-conditioned and quiet. The beds are comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The bathroom was clean, with an excellent shower recess . . . and no clingy shower curtain. There is a small mini-bar, and the attached restaurant is excellent.||I'll be using it again.

Great location. Room smelt musty. Visable mould on the air con. Staff did clean the visable mould however needs a professional clean. The Air con in the second room was only cooling and not cold enough. The TV required to be turned off at the powerpoint to reconnect to the internet every time it was turned off. The coffee machine leaked. And there was one rude staff member that complained at getting some dish washing liquid. The rest of the staff were friendly, the room was adequate and the food was good
