Really awesome! If you want a getaway from the city this is it! The people that are owning this place are really lovely! There are some cabins in the woods. Its close to the beach so really romantic. For breakfast we had some toast with jam and some cereals. On our last day, they prepared a delicious BBQ

Only the beds were not that good, the mattresses were to old. You couldn’t sleep comfortable

Bit of a hassle to book as it’s enquire only, but 100% worth it! Fantastic service, really clean facilities. We were going to camp initially but the dorms are great for anyone backpacking. Really comfortable and good vibes. Definitely worth paying the little extra to stay in a dorm.

I booked this place for sandboarding which was great!
The bathrooms are newly renovated and very clean.
Unfortunately the WiFi didn't work throughout my stay. Was advised to keep the fan in the room on, to discourage mosquitoes but it was extremely squeeky.
The place was full of large groups and hence the dorms were loud late at night and very early in the morning. (In fairness when I booked, I was told there would be large groups). In my experience it wasn't a great atmosphere for solo travellers but would happily come back as a group of 6 friends.

Great place to spend a few days relaxing and soaking in the sun at beautiful One Mile Beach, and exploring Anna Bay and the famous Sand dunes. The owners are very friendly and make you feel at home. Highly recommended. Will definitely go back again!

One of my favorite hostiles to ever stay in. Five minutes walk from a white-sand beach, activities like surfing and kayaking readily available, beautiful campground. The cabins were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Hosts/owners were also very kind and knowledgeable. Highly, highly recommend. Will be returning if I ever come through town again.

This hostel has by far been one of my favourite stays during my Australia trip.
The atmosphere and location is so special and I highly recommend staying here at least once.
The couple who run the hostel are very welcoming and their little dogs made it that much better.

Wonderful backpacker and travel friendly hostel in Port Stephen’s. Very much a nature driven horse with wooden cabins and open space.||5min walk away from a lovely beach which has great mornings waves. ||Close to Shoal Bay for water activities and bars and cafes.||Lovely hostel worth staying at. Hosts are very friendly and provide so much information. ||Don’t forget bud spray.||P.S - might see a lot of wildlife so keep an eye out.

I loved my stay at Melaleuca. I was in a tent but had access to a nice big kitchen and clean toilets, all for a low price.
It's a wonderful place, you feel like you're in the middle of the forest as you get to rub shoulders with the local animals. It's a calm and peaceful place that I highly recommend.
