📌 Location of MEDISTAY

MEDISTAY: A Comprehensive Overview

MEDISTAY, located at 2/4 Hogben St, Kogarah NSW 2217, Australia, stands out as a notable hotel option for travelers seeking convenience and comfort in the Kogarah area. With direct contact details available through Phone: 295885741 and an easily accessible website medistay.com.au, guests can effortlessly reach out for inquiries or bookings. The hotel's specialization in hotel services makes it a reliable choice for short-term stays, offering a range of amenities typical for a quality accommodation establishment.

Location and Accessibility

Nestled in Kogarah, a suburb of Sydney, MEDISTAY benefits from its prime location. This is often highlighted by guests as one of the hotel's greatest strengths, suggesting that its proximity to local amenities and attractions is a major draw. However, the location also brings its own set of challenges, particularly regarding cleanliness and maintenance, as noted in several reviews. Despite these issues, the hotel's address is convenient for those looking to explore the area.

Facilities and Services

MEDISTAY prides itself on offering essential hotel services. Key facilities include a washer and dryer, although the latter's absence for guests is a drawback, especially considering the thin towels provided for the duration of a five-day stay. The specialties of the hotel revolve around providing a basic hotel experience, yet the quality of these services varies as per guest feedback. Notably, some guests have mentioned limited crockery and very limited cutlery, suggesting a need for improvement in these areas. The room temperature is another point of contention, with many noting it was too cold and the heating system unreliable.

Room Quality and Maintenance

Reviews indicate a mixed experience with room cleanliness and maintenance. Several guests reported the bin in the utility room overflowing and not being emptied for four days, which reflects poorly on the housekeeping services. Additionally, there were complaints about soap pieces in the shower and filthy crockery upon check-in. The absence of a laundry facility in the room itself compounds the discomfort, especially for longer stays. Despite these issues, the hotel does offer a heater for guest use, which was appreciated by some.

Guest Services and Communication

Effective communication between guests and hotel management appears to be a challenge. Multiple attempts to contact the management about air conditioning issues and broken ventilation above the beds were met with unsatisfactory responses. This lack of responsiveness can be frustrating for guests trying to resolve their concerns. The hotel's average opinion on Google My Business is a solid 4.5 out of 5, indicating overall satisfaction despite the noted shortcomings.

Recommendations for Potential Guests

For those considering a stay at MEDISTAY, it's advisable to approach with certain expectations in mind. While the hotel's location is undoubtedly a plus, potential guests should be prepared for the possibility of room cleanliness issues and limited amenities. It might be beneficial to pack extra towels and consider bringing a small appliance if drying clothes is a priority. Given the communication challenges, it's wise to have a backup plan for resolving any service-related issues that arise during your stay.

Conclusion

MEDISTAY offers a solid foundation for hotel accommodation in Kogarah, with its strategic location being a significant selling point. However, potential guests should weigh the pros and cons, particularly concerning room cleanliness and maintenance. The hotel's efforts to provide a basic hotel experience are commendable, but improvements in service and maintenance are clearly needed to enhance guest satisfaction fully. With an overall positive reception from its visitors, MEDISTAY seems to be on a path of gradual improvement, striving to meet and exceed the expectations of its clientele.

Location, location, location, and that's where it ends. Towels and tea towel, should be thrown out, there is a washer but no dryer, so a towel ( thinnest towel we've ever used) for 5 days Used pieces of soap in shower, crockery very limited, cutlery filthy. Room was very cold, had heater, it was also filthy. Also bin in utility room was overflowing, and hadn't being emptied 4 days later. Contacted management twice about air con, wouldn't turn off, also broken vents above bed. No onsight staff, so very hard to communicate our concerns, needs an update

Tiny room, not bigger than my master at home, for the two of us for two nights. Just enough space to open the door to go in and out and that's about it. The room had a slight unpleasant odor of cigarettes, as if it was clinging to the person who cleaned the room? There was toilet paper in the toilet, that didn't belong to us and a dish sponge, stained black. I contacted someone, by text, to request an adjustment of the air con temp, as it was a balmy 24 degrees and was advised to turn off the air con, which was not much of an improvement. We borrowed a small fan from the laundry room and we were very grateful for it. When we left the room at 8am the following morning, the temp was 27 degrees, while in the hallway, it was much more pleasant. In the shower, the taps worked in opposite directions and gave you enough water to get wet, but barely enough to get a decent rinse and a communal bottle of shampoo and shower gel. The good points are that the beds were blissfully comfortable, the traffic noise was negligible, the unit seemed very clean, secure and well presented, all within walking distance to everything we needed and we were only there to sleep. I guess with no other competition for accommodation in the area, they can charge whatever they want for what you get. Some individualized toiletry products, slightly more attention paid to kitchen and toilet details and the ability to effectively keep the room cool, would make people feel less like they've paid too much?

I stayed in room 1 while my mother was having surgery 2 weeks ago. It is modern and has very good access to hospital, however I was disappointed with my stay. I was left with an opened long life milk in fridge, bed sheets had a few drip stains on them, shower was not or very poorly cleaned as it had several black mark's over walls that were easily removed with toilet paper. Everything else appeared clean. Also I don't mind sharing soap and shampoo out of large bottles at home but not in a hotel. Parking at the counsel car park was about a 10 minute walk while carrying my luggage from Medistay and the hospital parking has a 6 hour parking limit. It cost me $50 a night for counsel parking.
There was an admin desk at the front of room 1 but I did not see any staff during my stay to voice my concerns.
In the end I had to stay an extra night in Sydney after my mothers surgery and decided to stay at Cogee rather than ask for an extension. I was very relieved I did as I was much more comfortable and they provided parking.

My husband was in St George Private and this was great. It's really comfortable, clean and very homey, but most importantly really close. They sitting room is great to take some time out. Bathroom is great size especially for when the patients come out and need a bit more space than regular bathrooms.

Really appreciate this provision. There's so many things that you have to try to consider when a family member is in hospital and not having to think about how you are going to get to and from the hospital every day or worrying about being too far away is a great relief. Highly recommended for anyone with family members in hospital.

Kind, generous, friendly and understanding owners. A brilliant first class accommodation facility a 100 metres or so from St George hospitals, I walked to the private hospital and walked back after my surgery. The apartment we were in was clean, modern and very comfortable. The guest lounge, free wi fi, coffee machine, computer, free calls and on top of that the security of the building is a blessing. Car park next door meant we parked the car safely and walked everywhere. You deserve our unconditional appreciation. Thank you Jeff and Sue for your magnificent apartments.
