I would like to share what happened to me and fiona the other day. Fiona & I went to #mcguireshotel for lunch. Anyway I left my bank card at work. I told them I'll ring them once I go back to work and pay over the phone, I was terribly embarrassed. However after explaining who I was the owner of sage, they were absolutely lovely and didn't question anything. Ooh and the meals were amazing. Anyhow I called once back at work, and they told me someone at the bar heard my delemer and decided to pay for our meal. Wow.. thank you!!

No air-conditioning in the room, fan didn't work either.. not a nice way to spend a night in the wet season in Mackay. Bed was rubbish, mattress was so thin I could feel the slats. Shower was the only positive. Staff were very friendly and helpful though.

Lady at the front was really lovely.
But, the room will suit someone with very low standards. It's noisy (thank God I had earplugs from the flight earlier), there's stains everywhere, even on the bed sheets (looked like mould), it's just by the road to no moment of peace, brown water in the tap that cleared after a minute, but the water had bits in it, so I skipped the morning shower, good AC, clean towels, overall a sleepless night and I can't say it's worth it for me. Location was close to the morning bus so it's the only reason I picked it. Next time, I'll take a taxi 😅

Rooms could be a lot cleaner but you get what you paid for. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Nice balcony as well.

Good to see a smaller club pulling through these tough times. Staff are friendly and polite. Thursday through to Saturday is a blast with the karaoke, if that isn't for you then have a game of pool. Gather some friends and go visit, you won't be disappointed

I have stayed here 4 nights and in my opinion was a simple and cute hotel. I chose a dorm room with 5 beds but I have been alone there. The reception is next to the bar and the staff was really nice. On Friday and Saturday it was loud until 2 am but I went down and enjoyed some beers and the life music. Also on my last day after my checked out, the staff accepted to keep my stuff into the hotel until I could take it. I definitely recommend it.

Venue has a pretty decent beer garden though there is no views of anything that you would normally have in one. It has a great stage for bands/dj's allowing it to be one of the better places to see a gig. If you like to play pool they have 6 pool tables so you can almost always get a game. Drinks are reasonably priced and food wont blow your socks off but is appropriately priced for a pub meal. Would go there again.

Just had a drink. Would be a lively place on weekends. Very well set up for a good night out with a crowd. Live music, plenty of service bars.
Needs maintenance!! Looking shabby. Great venue being neglected. Friendly staff.
