This should not be rated as a 4 Star hotel.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with my husband and 2 kids. The rooms are very spacious and having a kitchenette and washer dryer are very convenient.

However, everything else was disappointing and cheap. Some of the furniture and fittings are more ‘modern’ but everything is mismatched. You can tell that they have spent the bare minimum to make any upgrades. During our 3 night stay we had to kill several mosquitos in the room which was concerning.

The service is also terrible. The phone in the room doesn’t actually connect to reception. The receptionist also told us that not all rooms have a hair dryer, so he had to go find one from another room.

Lastly, whilst we are happy to have the linen changed only on the third day, no cleaner has come in to at least empty the bins and do a quick tidy up, which is something you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The supply room near the lift had been left unopened during our whole stay, which is messy and unkempt.

We stayed here over Xmas. I was a bit apprehensive with sone if the reviews I had read but I have to say we had a very comfortable stay and would highly recommend. We stayed in a 2 bdr unit which was very roomy fir our needs, great comfy beds with an abundance of pillows and lovely linen. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole unit was extremely clean. We had a great comfortable stay (with our dog) and would definitely stay here again when next time in Wollongong. We found the staff super efficient and the location great for our needs. I note that other reviews did not have the experience we had but I can honestly say I have relatively high expectations when it comes to accommodation and I was so very happy with our decision to stay here

We stayed here as it was close to the hospital. We booked two nights in a one bedroom apartment which was clean with a big bathroom and new beds. Lovely balcony with views to the mountains. Enough crockery and cutlery (all very clean) for the two of us and it was great to have a microwave and toaster. Nice big fridge if you needed it.

The staff were exceptional, everyone from the cleaners to the reception girls. Considering it was a full house we didn't have to wait that long for the elevator each time we used it. Staying here considerably reduced our stress while dealing with going back and forth to the hospital. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely staff member on check in (Mohammed). You get what you pay for, definitely the cheaper option in Wollongong. No aircon in bedrooms, quite dated with a funky smell. I’m not a fussy reviewer but I specifically didn’t like that this was the only hotel I’ve ever stayed at who didn’t offer or even look into the possibility of a complimentary late check out. Called the male receptionist in the evening to enquire, he didn’t even check if it was possible just gave a straight no you can’t get any late checkout. Bizarre, probably wouldn’t return.

Please take the negative reviews about this hotel seriously (as reflected below), as I believe they are far closer to the truth than those giving it 4 or 5 stars. Perhaps my standards are high, but to be frank, this hotel fails to live up to its apparent potential. Accor should be embarrassed to have it under its brand. In fact, it was worse than an Ibis Budget hotel I stayed at in the past two months - and that was disappointing too.

The property is poorly maintained, with scuffed decor, outdated furnishings, and an overall impression of neglect and uncleanliness. While the bedding and towels were clean and the rooms were spacious (credit where it’s due, as noted in previous reviews), I still felt uncomfortable walking on the floors without socks.

All in all, it was a long and unpleasant three-night stay, and I switched to another hotel immediately after (booked through work so it took time to change). This experience has been a strong reminder to read reviews more carefully in the future!

I decided to start at the Mantra as it was advertised as having a fully equipped kitchen. Imagine my surprise on my first morning to discover there was no fry pan and I was unable to cook breakfast. ||||As there is no 24hr reception I tried phoning the number that was on the sign at the front desk. The girl who answered is obviously answering the phone for multiple hotels. She was nice enough but unable to help and unable to contact anyone who could. ||||I expressed how upset I was, as I had paid significantly more than other hotels so that I could cook in the room. ||||She told me someone would call me about the problem and discuss a partial refund. It is now nearly four weeks later and I'm yet to receive that call.||||There was a fry pan left in my room sometime that afternoon. I tried to cook the next morning, only to discover there was no cooking utensils either.||||The room was nice enough and the bed was comfortable. However it's woeful to advertise a room as having a fully equipped kitchen when it clearly is not.

Had basic utensils, large closet and good sized fridge. Air-conditioning was a mercy, and bed was comfy. I would stay here again.

Yeah not bad at all. I didn't see any Manta Rays though. Elevator was slow as and there was no elevator music playing. Room 601 parties hard. Jacko didn't do it. GG Jiggy, GG indeed.
