I wouldn't stay here again. The rooms were old, dark and tired, with mould in the tile grout and spider webs all over the windows. Our bed sheet had an old stain. Service wasn't great. We had to go down to reception ourselves if we wanted extra (eg toilet paper, tea etc). I think because they were under-staffed. The pool area feels like a dungeon and was cold (pool heater broken). There was a bag of rubbish in the hallway the whole weekend. On the plus side, breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant. I just think management is not spending any money to maintain the hotel and it really shows.

We stayed in family room 116/117 over the ANZAC long weekend.

The room was dated, poorly lit and smelled bad but the most unsatisfactory thing was how dirty the room was.

There were recent and older stains on walls and skirtings from spilled drinks, hairs on crockery, filthy carpet, broken floor lamp, and grubby surfaces.

The windows were dirty inside and out and the bathroom had a persistent dank smell.
The location is good - but we have stayed in three other accomodations nearby and will never stay here again.

We remarked to each other that we have stayed in cheap accomodation in developing countries that was cleaner - and have stayed in countless older, cheaper hotels and motels domestically that were maintained and cleaned to a better standard.

The reception staff member we dealt with had a rude and disinterested mannerism to both my partner and I.

The pool area is not as presented on the website and other guests there remarked to us how horrible it was. The heating was not working - sure, this happens - but it was a horrible claustrophobic, dirty space regardless.

The 2 stars above is given purely on location.

Despite the fact the room is ageing - you can do better than this. The grubby room meant that our time at the hotel was the worst part of our family weekend away and we will not stay at a Mantra again!

Enjoyed the clean hotel room and the balcony views, comfortable beds, hot showers, working washing machine and drier. Basic kitchen not many implements pan hard to cook in and no spatula, Good size fridge made ice easily. The pool was more of a plunge pool as it was cold and small. Liked the Sauna it was large enough for several people.

I booked a stay here as I am an Accor Plus member (rate $120 a night - bargain!) and platinum (they gave me an upgrade to a 1 bedroom, wine and breakfast). The staff were all lovely and the lobby is really welcoming. My room was large and I liked having the kitchen with a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The pool was ok but a little cold as the heater is broken. The location is good near the light rail and an easy walk to the Canberra centre. Only issue was wifi that cut in and out in the evening. Otherwise a perfect stay. The breakfast was tasty too. I preferred my stay here to a more expensive recent stay at the nearby Novotel.

We stayed for one night in the family apartment which was a good setup for what we needed and in a good location next to Bradden and right on the main road, next to a light rail stop. The apartment has everything, even a washer and dryer, with an ample sized lounge and kitchen area. The adjoining hotel room was setup with twin beds (the hotel called me ahead of my stay to confirm what we needed) albeit the hotel room was in a more modern state than the apartment which felt a bit dated. The pool, gym & sauna area was a bit strange, accessed via fire stairs in the basement. The pool isn't heated so we didn't use it. The sauna was good and gym had all the basics you'd need for a workout. The team on reception were really friendly throughout our stay. I was impressed with the breakfast buffet in particular the homemade beans and the herb & garlic potatoes were delicious.

Good location in the city. Close to restaurants and pubs.Large room. ||No outlook from balcony other next door apartment building. Room didn’t look like pictures on website. Hotel overdue for an update. Pool and gym in dungeon like area which you had to access by metal fire escape stairs . Not inviting in anyway. I felt like no recognition of the fact that I was a gold Accor plus member. Not up to Accor standards of other places we have stayed.

I was upgraded to 1 bedroom Unit. It was nice and spacious. Stayed here for a night but it was simple and easy to checkin and out. To park car overnight I had to pay $20 extra apart from the room charges.

I paid $400 dollars for a night and the room is very dated for that price. Pool heated pump was broken and Sauna was very tired and old. The place needs some TLC but the main reason I scored a 3 here is the restaurant is very small with limited breakfast choice. I ordered a small strong soy cap and they charged me $7.60. That's the most I've paid for a coffee in Australia....ever. Better places to stay at similar money..
