overall a good stay, main aircon didn't work in the room, it was like a sauna in there.
I had already setup everything for my romantic afternoon, Flowers etc so it was too late to swap rooms.

when mentioned to the lady at the desk I don't feel like there was much compassion for the situation, no offer for a cheaper stay or a discount on our dinner that was on the tab or nothing.

I loved my trip to Mackay and mostly because of the mantra. The food was amazing, do get the breakfast add on. It is worth it ! The hotel itself is stunning! But the best bit of it all were the staff. They were all so fabulous.

The hotel is situated at the Mackay Harbour and the water views over the marina were lovely. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there. Staff were very pleasant, particularly the breakfast staff. Our spa suite was very spacious and clean.|We enjoyed staying at the Mantra Mackay.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, the room was lovely and location amazing! We had a few issues in the room though that were kind of frustrating, TV didn't work so the remote was replaced while we were out, TV was on when we returned, great but there's a big black line down the middle of the screen, we watched for an hour and then turned it off while we left to have a few drinks, when we returned the TV again wouldn't turn on! There was no plug in the bathroom for the bath, we tried to call reception but the phone had no power lead so couldn't be used! My partner had to walk down to reception to obtain a plug! Shower head had limescale on it, exhaust in bathroom wasn't working and the toilet seat was broken! Please fix these issues in room 5011! 4 star hotel I'd expect a little bit more care be taken when making sure a room is in working order for guests! Despite the many bumps we enjoyed our stay! I have stayed here many times, basically because it is an Accor hotel, so I earn points. However, this is a very tired hotel. The pool had debris in it, even though the pump was working. The guttering and downpipe outside my room was all rusty and had holes in it. The air con compressors on my balcony are all rusty and noisy. I feel the maintenance on this hotel is fairly non existent. However, my room was comfortable, clean and tidy. It had everything I needed.

Came in late on the first night to check in & thank God it's 24 reception! After a big day of work & travelling the simplicity of checking in was appreciated. Staff member even moved her car to enable me to park on site, as the carparks were full. Lovely clean big room & very comfortable bed. Had the best nights sleep both nights i stayed. Room amenities were also great. Self contained & bathroom very spacious & great shower!

The staff very helpful and pleasant. Our room had an amazing view and we enjoyed the breakfast and pool very much. The apartments were in walking distance to the Life Savers and close to other eating and bar areas. We would certainly stay there again.

The rooms are very dated and not very clean. The paint on the bathroom ceiling is peeling with mould in the ceiling (room 6009)
Rooms smell like mould. Dishwasher doesn't work properly and is very old and gross. Bathroom counter tops still had toothpaste splashes from previous guests. Curtains have spots on them. The shower screens are covered with white reside (6010 and 6009). Toilet roll holders are rusted.

On the plus side, all the staff were very friendly and the location is great. The bedlinen was fresh and clean. Checking in and out was very easy. 3 stars from us.
