I am very bad at providing reviews and especially writing a negative review is my worst nightmare coz to me it does not only affect the person who provided the services but also the person writing the reviews about it. I had planned a trip to Tasmania because my daughter was turning one and we wanted to make it most of the memories we possibly could. We started off with such an amazing time from Hobart which changed into a nightmare as soon as we entered Launceston. Trust me it’s nothing to do with the place itself but the house that I was planning to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. One of my worst experiences using this space, Manee's On Elphin. The picture of this house looked so perfect, the whole house was full of classic vibes, nice and cozy but damn it was like living in the prison. The reason behind this will be clearly pointed out below:
1. My initial plan started with only three of us going so I booked the property as planned. Things changed as the day was coming closer so my whole family (parents and sister) planned to celebrate the birthday together. I had spoken to the manager of the property over the phone and had informed him that my whole family was arriving to the property for which he was really nice and very welcoming, but things changed as we reached the property. We reached the property between 10-11pm. As soon as we reached the property, I received a text from the manager asking why there were more people than what had been indicated so we explained and apologised for the confusion, but he still called us liar and dishonest. After the conversation, I assured him that the differences will be paid out. You wouldn’t believe what happened next. As we were so tired from the travel, and it had already past midnight after we have sorted out the things, we went straight to bed. Early morning the next day I was woken up with a loud bang on the door by a guy called Paul who threatened us to call the Police because we hadn’t paid the difference. I would have understood if we were leaving there that particular day but we were staying at the property for another 3 more days, and they had kept the bond for the property as well. He could have phoned or emailed me to ask why there was a delay
2. The property has cameras fitted in front of the garage door and in the garden which faces straight in the dining room, no privacy. Notices on the walls threatening you to fine if the things were not done according to their house rules.
3. There was a warning behind the door to ensure that we clean the house otherwise we will be fined but nil equipment to clean, not even extra bin liners (we had to buy the cleaning equipment’s from Woolworths) to avoid their plan to trap us for not cleaning.
4. Their shampoo, conditioner and body wash was amazing which gave our family an allergy.

Overall, my so much awaited holiday turned out to be a stressful one. I do totally understand that there was a confusion and it’s my fault as well, but I feel like that things could have been dealt with in a different, but a nice manner which was never the case in my situation. I hope Stayz take this kind of reviews seriously. People who usually book a property are trying to feel it like home away from home not to feel humiliated and disrespected.
This experience will always make me think twice before I plan to book anything in the later days.

I have no idea what their rooms are like but don't expect them to be accommodating if you need to change your booking. I needed a change of date and they hid behind the fact that I had booked through booking.com to say they couldn't convert the cancellation fee to a new booking. Eventually when it was too late (I booked elsewhere as I wasn't giving them more money) booking.com responded saying "You requested to cancel reservation xxxxxx. Although there is a charge associated with this cancellation, we asked Manee's On Elphin to make an exception for your reservation. We have not received a response from the property"

I cannot recommend this exceptional home highly enough. Beautifully styled with a unique charm, it offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels instantly welcoming. Having traveled extensively, I can confidently say this is among the finest places I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying. The owner is wonderfully friendly and always eager to assist, enhancing the experience even further. Treat yourself to a stay here – you won’t regret it.
