After travelling Australia for 3 weeks the Majectic Roof Garden was our penultimate hotel before returning home. We were checked in by totally unfriendly and miserable staff who hardly spoke except giving us our key and telling us they needed to take a card for security. We had already paid for our room upfront but we agreed as lots of hotels do this for expenditure whilst there.||Room was big, old but actually quite nice It was clean with a bath and a shower. There was a payable mini bar. There was also a tray of goodies to eat on the dressing table but we had no idea if they were payable so we didn't touch them. We asked afterwards and were grumpily told yes of course they were payable. No even one one free bottle of water! Air con was very noisy during the night so could not sleep.||We had vouchers to present for breakfast so we went along to the small area they called the restaurant. The menu was so limited and you could pick one item off of it. You could also have one tea, coffee or a glass of orange. We ordered our one item but no smile and no conversation.||Location of the hotel was good and just a short walk into the centre so I suppose that was a good point. ||We bought nothing in the hotel but on arrival home realised we had been charged for the privilege of giving them our card for additional payment items of which we had none!||Would not recommend and would not stay again.

Central location, nice rooms, walking distance to Rundle mall & Adelaide oval - great for a footy trip. Nice pizza/pasta restaurant right next door is a bonus. Got upgraded to a balcony room which was an added bonus. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was nice as well (not a buffet - proper a Le carte)

Wonderful soft and comfortable beds that have a built in 7cm mattress topper. Beautiful, well appointed bathroom. Room was a great size. Quiet location with our room (107) being at the rear of the hotel. Hot water took at least a minute to come through I shower, which seemed a bit wasteful.

A bit old tried a patch up reno. Location is great. Rooms have Japanese's sliding doors for the bathroom that don't close properly, no door on the toilet. Zero privacy from the rest of the room in toilet or shower. Price reflects the room, a bit run down in a good location.

This was a surprise. Really impressive room. Sure itโ€™s dated but itโ€™s big, well designed and functional. It has a very simple feature that I miss in so many hotels, namely a bath positioned so you can open dual sliding doors and open it up to the room.

I have no idea why so many hotels forget to do this or choose not to. It immediately doubles the size of the bathroom making it feel enormous. And if youโ€™re staying with your partner, itโ€™s a really social way to enjoy the room.

The hotel would be improved by having a larger gym.

All the staff , each and everyone we encountered were so nice and welcoming. The rooms are a bit dated but all is overlooked when the service shines! Thanks everyone for an awesome weekend!

Early check-in and late check-out available. Very comfortable king bed and pillows, everything you need for a very enjoyable stay. Very quiet for its location so close to Rundle Street, also nice and clean and fresh. Great place to stay when dining or a night out in the city. Will definitely be staying there again when the next opportunity arises.
