We were met with a spectacular view and an exemplary host, Andre, who made our stay unlike any other. The resort is perfectly nestled between Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation. The room was a great place to come back to after a long day of exploring. Andre knows the region very well and is more than happy to help with where to go and what to do. Couples looking for a luxurious experience with peace and quiet should definitely stay at Mai Tai Resort.

We had a phenomenal stay at the Mai Tai. Not only were the views incredible; the room super romantic (with a very cool outdoor tropical shower); and the location perfect for exploring the Great Barrier Reef, Mossman Gorge, and the Daintree Rainforest; Andre (the host) was so warm and welcoming that we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a serene and romantic stay in the most gorgeous rainforest location.

What a wonderful experience staying at Mai Tai resort .
The setting ,the room everything about this place exuded tranquility .
Nestled amongst the rainforest listening to the gheckos whilst sipping champagne was a joy
We were here for our honeymoon and it exceeded all our expectations and will be in our memories forever.
Andre the host was absolutely marvellous and attentive to all our needs who took pride in the special details.
He was informative about the area and had a great understanding of the history of his surroundings,also a wonderful story teller.
By the time we left we felt like we were leaving friends behind.
We felt sad to leave but look forward to revisiting in the future .

Mai Tai has to be the most beautiful adult only accommodation in far North Queensland. This is our second visit to Mai Tai and without a doubt Andre is a warm and kind accommodating host, from the beautiful relaxing breakfast to booking a tour to the reef or beyond his warmth and conversation is rare in today’s world.
This place is located within a quick drive to the Port Douglas or Mossman for lunch or Dinner.
The pillows and bed are so comfortable and all the linen is clean and beautifully presented. Both our rooms were spotless and you must try the outside shower with privacy from the other guests as it immerses you into nature with the noises of the birds singing away.
If you like dogs, Andre will let Sky and Summer out for you to play with - or just thrown the toys for them. They are both adorable and love any attention and pats.
This is the place to really enjoy and relax from a busy life or a great location for overnight stays for your day tips from Port Douglas to the outer reef or discover everything the Daintree has to offer.
This is our go to place to stay now every time we come to FNQ Port Douglas.

Highly recommend for a truly relaxing holiday!
I highly recommend this beautiful accommodation. We stayed 5 nights but would have stayed longer if we could. It was peaceful, private and relaxing. The accommodation is surrounded by nature, and we enjoyed our beautifully prepared breakfast looking out onto the majestic view. The rooms were lovely and spotless, and bed very comfortable with quality linen. Andre was an extremely attentive and lovely host. He answered all questions and gave many suggestions of restaurants and attractions.It was a memorable holiday and we can't wait to come back to this special place.

This is a gorgeous Hotel (feels like a Bed and Breakfast). The location at the edge of the Rainforest, a short ride up the (mountain 1000 ft high), is perfect to explore Port Douglas, the beaches and is close enough to visit the Tablelands. The views of the rainforest and the ocean in the distance are breathtaking. The resort is super clean and decorated tasteful in Buddha style (It feels like you’re in Thailand). All the rooms are very nicely decorated and the beds and linnen are super-comfy. The host and owner Andre is super nice and knows everything about things todo and visit in the area. Breakfast and coffee were great and Andre is always around (but not in your face) to be of assistance. We had a lot of fun and educational conversations with him during our stay. We had a group of 5 people and stayed in 3 different rooms. We highly recommend Mai Tai resort.

In hills 15 min outside port douglas---wonderful views. Rooms large and comfortable, clean and well laid out. Great breakfast and Pool area. Andre host very nice and helpful. Only a few rooms so quiet and calm--perfect for unwind--will go again!

What a holiday! 6 nights stay at Mai Tai was unbelievable and a heartfelt experience. On arrival we felt like we were instantly transported into a Balinese oasis!! It was magic! Greeted by the effervescent owner Andre who was the kindest and most friendly man with a personable demeanor. He made us feel at home. |We stayed in the gorgeous Hibiscus room which was mapped out perfectly with a king size bed which was super comfy with quality sheets and bedding. |The room was so private looking out to the garden. It was everything we needed to make a perfect stay. |Breakfast was provided each morning consisting of tropical fruits, cereals, croissants with home made jams and delicious bottomless coffee!! Andre was there for our every need and provided us with knowledgeable information and sites to see. He even arranged our tours taking away any stress. We were really looked after so very well. |Afternoons were spent lazing by the pool sipping wine looking out at the exquisite countryside. It was amazing! Freedom! |This was one of the most beautiful relaxing holidays we have experienced and boy it was so sad to say goodbye. Thank you Andre for all your kindness and care in making our holiday such a memorable experience.
