Wonderful and relaxing. Cabins spaced apart, large, BBQ pavilion nice view. Firewood readily available. The manager has a wonderful sense of humour. Best weekend away we've had for a long time. So stress free.

We booked this alpaca farm stay for the long weekend really last minute. However we were not disappointed. Anne was very approachable and prompt with all enquires. The cabin itself was spotless clean with views overlooking the alpaca farm, well maintained gardens and native bush. The bedding was very comfortable to sleep in. We also hired a port a cot for our 2 year old son. Our son especially enjoyed the alpaca feeding experience and chasing after free range chickens, he also enjoyed playing with the mini kitchen in the lounge and toys in the garden . We didn’t use but other guests enjoyed playing tennis, having a BBQ in gazebo. The swimming pool was too cold for us to jump in. We enjoyed exploring the retreat peacefully in beautiful sunset. Highly recommended for animal loving families in winter ( loved log fireplace).

We visited Madison’s Mountain Retreat over New Years. We stayed 2 night with our 4 year old son. We really enjoyed our stay and thought it was even nicer than we expected. The cottage we stayed was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Kitchen was well equipped (even had cooking oil, salt, sugar, tea, coffee). |The bed was super comfortable and we loved the alpaca themed bedlinen. |Anne was a great host, very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals and the area. She clearly loves the animals and takes good care of them. |The indoor pool was warm enough for our son to swim on it and nice to have on a hot day. We enjoyed using the BBQ for our meals and sit at the bbq area in the evenings looking at the sunset and the animals. |There were lots of toys and activities (games, DVDs) to borrow during our stay which our son loved. |We will definitely come back, maybe when the weather gets cooler so we can use the fireplace inside the cottage.

We had a lovely time at Maddison’s. we didn’t stay just came for the Alpaca experience. The kids got to feed and pat the alpacas.
The folk here were so friendly and entertained the kids.
Although we didn’t stay, the cabins and grounds look really great.

We had a lovely time at Maddison’s Retreat. We stayed two nights. It was delightful to see and feed the alpacas; there was even a week old baby, who was adorable. The room had a wood fire heater which was great on a winter night! Will definitely come back.

We went for my daughters second birthday and it was amazing!! The cabin is well built and cosy with the fire, the huge spa was a big hit with bubbles. The alpacas & chickens are right outside so it was great to visit them any time. They are fed twice a day which was fun! Anne moved the feeding forward when we first arrived as my daughter was so excited. We took toys from the visitor room to play in our own room, including a great selection of books to read each night. During the day we visited Bilpin Cider which is just down the road for lunch & enjoyed dinner at the nearby Archibald Hotel which is set on a hill so a great view! A really enjoyable weekend away & my daughter still talks about the ‘pac pacs’

We stayed at Madison’s over the weekend with our son and his family. We throughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for the night. There was lots of blankets so we didn’t bother with the wood fire but will give it a go next time we visit. We loved the lake with the ducks and geese and our grandkids loved feeding the alpacas in the morning . We also loved using the BBQ area for breakfast as it had a great heater. Thanks Anne for being a lovely host.

We had a beautiful break away for the last 5 days in the peaceful mountain sarounded by the Alpacas, chicken,ducks and Goats. We got to hand feed the Alpacas which happens at 3pm each day.||We have learnt so much since being here and enjoyed our time as the staff were so helpful and friendly to answer any questions that we had.||The log cabin was very spacious and beautifully maintained with excellent views over the dam paddock and you could see the Alpacas from your cabin. The fire place was so welcoming on the chilly nights only the first time we used it and it was easy to do. The beds were very comfortable with a king in the main room single in the Lounge room which was made up and a double fold out sofa. We had a TV and basic cooking utensils Cutlery plates, a fridge and freezer as well.||Happy to tell everyone we know to go visit and enjoy the animals we will hope fully be back again soon||Thank you
