Absolutely disgusting rooms. Checked in went to the room and we walked in and it smelt like cigarettes. Mould on the ceiling and in the shower. The couch was stained and very gross. Fridge had rust on it where you could easily cut your hand on. I was absolutely appalled. I went straight back down to reception where they even agreed it wasn't hygienic /safe for our newborn and 2 year old to stay there. She gave me a refund through the machine it's been 4 days and I still haven't received anything into my account. When contacting the reception they said it can take up to 7 days. Which is ridiculous.
Worst experience.
Also side note the photos advertised of the rooms look nothing like the rooms in person. Very run down!

Stayed her this week, room was adequate for what I needed. Close dining for Lunch and Dinner but no breakfast options nearby. Availability of breakfast pack for $10 but it was too late to ask when I realised no local venues or options within walking distance.

The unit is dated and worn and not very clean or well-maintained. I felt it was overpriced, $30-50 less per night seems more appropriate for the state of the unit. The photos on the listing are very generous.

The food at the restaurant was average at best. The staff was not particularly friendly.

The location is pretty with a park and beach access across the road.

This apartment was disgusting ! There was disgusting cigarette butts on the ground outside our balcony! Hair in the shower , the curtains were falling off the tracks , the fridge had leftover food in it , I couldn’t put anything in the small freezer because it was thick with build up of ice . Shower rail was broken .Very outdated & for $199 a night I would expect more ! Terrible

I have a few contradictions with my stay here. The price is good and the location excellent almost beachfront at Slade point. It was nice to have the attached bar, restaurant and bottle shop but there needs to be some basic maintenance and care spent on the rooms. It was comfortable and relatively clean but the fridge was rusty, many of the walls were damaged and no tv in the bedroom. Still not a bad option for the price. It was nice to have cooking facilities in the room.

The food here is terrible! Don’t waste your money on frozen chips and a nasty cheeseburger with a frozen meat patty!
The staff are condescending and rude!

Extremely disappointing apartment - 2 star at best. Curtains don’t meet and don’t look as though they have been cleaned since they were put up. Carpets were badly torn up in places and there was mould between the tiles in the shower. The sheets on the bed were clean but the bed itself uncomfortable. The Tandoori chicken I had for dinner was amazing but the overall decor of the place lets it down. It seems the place has not been upgraded since it opened 35 years ago. Staff were friendly and service was very good (Tuesday night). Restaurant closes at 8:30pm. Haven’t gotten as far as beach yet - it’s dark at present, however, you can hear the sea which is just across the road. It’s a bit of a drive out of Mackay and we wish we’d stayed in Mackay itself as it was not worth pushing our journey an extra half hour in the dark.

Great dog friendly apartments, beautiful location. Awesome staff, bottle-o onsite

Negatives:
- Food at the attached hotel, is high price for the quality you receive.
- if travelling through, location isn't super convenient.
