Absolutely fantastic. Great service, to be able to find a place we could stop for lunch while camping and bring the dogs with us was amazing. They were so welcoming and the dogs were able to run about safely in the locked off beer garden.

Inside the pub was really nice. It still had the country pub feel, but was done up to still keep it modern and not run down, like a lot of country pubs. A few too many Richmond posters and not enough collingwood ones for my liking haha. With 2 pool tables, a tab, and sky tv for the punters. The footy was on another screen and plenty of spots at the bar to settle in for a good afternoon.

Now let's talk about the food. Firstly we were there for lunch. So the menu was slightly limited, compared to the dinner menu. But still had so many great traditional pub meals.

I didn't think you could cook food as quickly as they seemed to. Most times it means the food is pre cooked and then reheated when needed and thus the food is dry and tasteless. But my gosh everything we had was so beautifully cooked, tender and delicious. My hat is definitely of to the chef.

My little family of four and the two dogs. Couldnt recommend the macalister enough. Next time we are in the area we will be back for sure.

Just had lunch here and was treated like family. Beautiful service, great steaks burgers and beer. Kids were given Paddle Pop icecreams and offered marshmallows and all that after they would not let us pay for two Caramello Koalas for the kids when we arrived(boy was sick so a special treat) . Thank you for a wonderful two hours in a loverly country pub. Will be back and can't recommend this place highly enough!

Enjoyed this place me and my friend nicko the earth mover had the earth moving under me and my daughter's feet after the parma we had and the wonderful pints we were drinking. We even were given a terrific bunch of pencils and paper to draw on whilst we were there. Great hospitality and food and scrumptious beerry pints🤪
Looking forward to going back with you babe perhaps in your big truck next time xo

I know it's the holidays but we waited 1.5 hours for our meals we were told there would be a wait my beef schnitzel was ordinary at best I hate leaving negtive reviews but if they don't know they can't improve kids loved there meals so just mine and my brother in laws was ordinary. We are locals.

Large variety on the menu.cooked perfectly. The feel of the place was that I was in a 5 star restaurant rather than having lunch in a country pub. I have never been so impressed. Highly recommended

Everything was extremely expensive, cooked to within an inch of its life and didn't even have the decency to be fresh while within direct line of sight of a farm.

It is shocking when a small town pub offers lower value for money than the most gluten free of Carlton's vegan gastropubs.
