Pitched here by chance on a stunning late spring night. Thanks to those who maintain this site. Camping behind the beautiful grand stand was an unforgettable Aussie experience. Although the main toilet block was shut, the smaller block at the back of the site was open.

Clean location and plentyofroom, able to walk/bicycle to town. A tap on the Grand stand allowed me to fill my tanks before leaving.

This is a self contained location.

We initially parked out in the grass then a local came over and suggested we park undercover as expecting heavy rain with possible hail tonight. No power or water connected but at least our van and car protected. Should be ok without solar recharge.

Lockhart has the best radio stations, Coolstream 88, if you like music from 60, 70 and 80,’s definitely tune in.
