Lizard Island is a slice of paradise. It is an island in the Great Barrier Reef reached by plane from Cairns. The main resort is on Anchor Bay with a lovely beach to enjoy. But there are many other beaches on the island reachable by dinghy or staff drop-off (which we preferred). The snorkeling is fantastic. We especially liked the Clam Garden in Watsonโ€™s Bay (next to Anchor Bay). These clams are 4 feet across which was just mind blowing. The sunsets are spectacular, especially from your own private pool in the Sunset Beach villas. ||The food is really good as well. The menu changed every day for lunch and dinner with entrees and mains to choose from, with both fish and non-fish choices. ||The staff is young, energetic, and very friendly. They are from all ove the world and always willing to share something about their home which made the visit that much more special.||I highly recommend visiting Lizard Island Resort. You wonโ€™t regret it.

We flew into the island on a charter plane from HInterland and were immediately met with cold facecloths and a warm welcome. The entire restaurant, lounge and reception is open air, which gives it a very natural feel but with the numerous ceiling fans at work the temperature was ok. |We ate there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and were thorougly impressed with the variety , quality and taste of the food. The selection of wines included in the package was very good and as a result we got to try some that we would otherwise never have chosen. The staff are tremendous throughout the resort. The rooms, ours was overlooking Sunset Beach, were spacious and modern with good Air conditioning and generously sized bathrooms. We like having the double sink but my wife missed having a bath. Having said that, the snorkeling in crystal clear warm reef water more than made up for it. One of those experiences that will be difficult to better.

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip to Queensland last summer with family.|We splurged on the Pavillion for ourselves which we would recommend in a heartbeat. It is a fabulous space with great views in both directions. We got very used to champagne for sundowners and canapes which were included each evening and also loved the plunge pool.|We travelled with extended family including our 12 year old grandson who was looked after very well.|The watersports service was excellent. We are new to snorkelling and so the free lesson was very useful and enabled us to enjoy the other trips available.

Fantastic stay in the resort in Nov 2024. The location is perfect for snorkeling and the beaches are beyond beautiful. Staff are consistently helpful, enthusiastic and friendly. Catering team dealt with nut allergy extremely well, printing off separate menus for me with nut free alternatives, and always being able to explain how the dishes would be adapted to be nut free. Special praise for the beach club team, we really felt looked after by Sarah and Jasper, who also doubles up as the resident reptile expert and led a highly enjoyable nature walk where we got to see bats, lizards, ant nests and learn about the local wildlife. Thanks for a brilliant stay!

This is our second visit 5 years apart. Now Relaix and Chateau I can say the resort gets better each visit. |We stayed in the same villa that had been updated and the end result was elegant beach with all that you need in a villa at hand.|Twenty metres to the beautiful waters of the Barrier Reef and snorkeling only a 100 metre walk along the beach from our villa.|The staff, mainly backpackers are excellent. Delaware North the owners should be proud of the training given. |Full board and drinks make for that extra luxury feel and both were high quality and plentiful. |The food is high standard and tasty. I would say a little more salad choice as standard would be great to lighten up the food, especially at lunch. That said if you wanted something different the staff went out of their way to accommodate. I even asked for a sandwich and an Aussie hamburger.|Activities are professionally run and all equipment top quality.|All this is not cheap and we stayed 8 nights where most stay 3 or 4.|Try the short trip first as the flight to and from Cairns is extra and Iโ€™m sure you will be wanting to return or stay longer.

Words cannot describe the experience we lived here. We started to say wow before arriving and never stopped. |We were pretty lucky, as hotel was at less than 50% capacity with probably 20 people on the entire island. Result: we had amazing beaches only for us. Landscape is wonderful and marine life unbelievable, both on earth and on the sea. |Room was spacious and super comfortable, with daily refill of snacks, soft drinks and wine. Only minor flags on the restaurant, as service was good but too slow (we spent more than 1.5h for every meal!) and food quality not always as expected

Outstanding experience at a beautiful resort. First class all around. The food was great, the dive masters were very experienced, and the island is beautiful. Pricey, but worth it. We dove with Hanna and Max ... they were both excellent. Hanna, in particular, is one of the best divemasters we've had

This is paradise !!! Unbelievable views, superior service and food, wonderful amenities, and lots of water activities. Very relaxed atmosphere to do as little or as much as you want. I believe our group did it all, from hiking to water sports. Snorkeling and kayaking on the Great Barrier Reef is a definite bucket list item to check off.
