We had a wonderful stay here earlier this month. Simon and Joan are absolutely delightful people. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a most relaxing time. Expect your fridge to be filled with goodies for breakfast, gorgeous tropical fruit daily and endless eggs and bread, not to mention yogurt, bacon and honey from their very own bees. The pool was lovely and the barbecue area had everything you needed for cooking. Don't forget to ask for the pool table so you can have your glass of wine in the pool. Loads of lovely birds visit the garden and there are vegetables and herbs growing there as well. Two lovely cats complete the feeling that you are in a much loved home. Near enough to all Darwins attractions but far enough for a peaceful nights sleep in a lovely comfy bed. Fantastic.

Simon and Joan run one of the friendliest and best B&Bs we've stayed in! Nothing was too much trouble and we loved the pool rules - no one in the pool after 5pm without a glass of wine or a beer in their hand! We really enjoyed our lazy late afternoon/early evenings in the pool with them and one vening Joan brought down some delicious home made broth that we all enjoyed. The facilities were great - we had a sitting area, kitchen, washing machine and wi-fi. The garden was lovely and it was great to help oneself to limes and herbs straight from the garden. The chooks took care of any left over food as well and delivered lovely fresh eggs for breakfast.

We stay at B&B's whenever we can and Lilly Pad is a great example of just why we choose this type of accommodation. The facilities are wonderful as has been espoused in previous reviews and the hospitality provided by Joan and Simon is special. We learned a lot about their very interesting life experiences as we sipped a cold wine or two around the pool during the latter part of most afternoons. The breakfasts were a great start to the day with a wide selection of fruits followed by bacon and eggs with lovely fresh bread and some great home made jams and their own honey. The fully self contained apartment was serviced each day.||||Joan and Simon really made us feel at home and they made a huge contribution the the marvellous 10 days that we spent in Darwin.

Lilly Pad is a fully self-contained downstairs apartment in a lovely home in Rapid Creek, two blocks from the beautiful Rapid Creek foreshore with its amazing sunsets, and easy walking distance to Casuarina Coastal Reserve, Nigntcliff and Rapid Creek Markets. It is an easy drive or bus to Darwin city and museums.||||Joan and Simon were excellent hosts, very friendly and helpful, but ensuring peace and privacy. They made their bikes available for our use on the excellent foreshore bike tracks and provided delicious breakfast provisions including fresh tropical fruit each day. ||||The accommodation is very comfortable, quiet and cool, with impeccable attention to detail and cleanliness, with its own washing machine, drying line and two private outdoor seating areas. The pool is in a lovely tropical garden setting with overhanging orchids and heliconias, and the garden is amazing, with huge trees, lots of birds, highly productive fruit and vegetable plots and impressive beehives. ||||We really hope to stay there again when next in Darwin. Many thanks Joan and Simon for a great stay!

As with other reviews, we had no car for this part of our trip, but, Joan and Simon were very happy to collect us from the airport. After giving us a tour of the main city, they brought us back to their stunning B&B. It is a very spacious apartment with everything we needed and more. It is cook your own breakfast, as with many Australian B&B's, but everything is there for you; fresh, mostly home grown fruit, home farmed eggs and honey, yogurts, bread, bacon, tinned produce and much more. There's a nice Asian takeaway about a 6 minute walk away in Nightcliff (you can sit in). It was all just perfect and the pool with wine is a bonus after a long day exploring. If we were to return to Darwin, we would have no hesitation in choosing Lily Pad (with one L)! It is a little sanctuary & Joan and Simon are amazing hosts.

My parents-in-law had a fabulous time at Lilly Pad and raved about how clean and lovely the place was. They felt so welcome by Joan and Simon and thoroughly enjoyed the pool, the amenities and the tropical surroundings. They said if they ever go back to Darwin again they wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you Joan and Simon for looking after them so well!

My review is a long time coming. We actually one of the very first visitors to stay at Joan & Simon's lovely Lily Pad. We intially booked at the next door B&B , & they were fully booked, so the lady gave me Joans number, bcos at the time they didnt even have the webpage up. When we arrived at darwin airport, Joan was waiting for us, whisked us away, not even 10 mins and we arrived at 2am. She is the most unassuming sweetest lady you will ever meet. And a great artist too ! Both Joan & hubby Simon (lovely man with Russian heratige), were there ....but not there , if that makes sense. You felt like you had the whole place to yourself. The apartment under their house is so cute & cosy...and CLEAN. beautiful linen & comfy bed. Every little thought has gone into the set up. maps, sewing kit, the kitchen had EVERYTHING to whip up your own meals if you liked. Bikes to ride. The pool....gorgeous. The garden, tropical wonderland. Out doorsy bali type bathroom. Fresh honey, museli, delicious bacon, homegrown tomaotes to cook your own breakie. I could go on forever. in all.....dont waste time ....book here, you will NOT be dissapointed . Thanks Joan 😉 Maryanne & Tony Vic.

We've just spent 11 wonderful days staying at the Lily Pad, the problem is, where do I start?||I chose this B & B totally because of the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. I booked 10 months ago and communication with Joan, regarding the booking was easy and straightforward. ||The accommodation is lovely, a floor to ourselves, with the owner's, (Simon and Joan), house above.||Everything (and more), was provided for us... huge amount of fresh, foods for breakfast, a huge variety of teas and coffees, Joan was amazing at spotting anything that needed topping up. But it was also the little things... cotton wool /buds, razors, shampoo, conditioner, torches, umbrellas, I could go on and on, but hopefully you'll get the picture. ||Towels, flannels, mats, were changed daily and bedding changed twice whilst we were there.||Reviewers have mentioned the bees, fruits and chickens, previously, so I shan't go over that again, but I must say that Simon and Joan had an amazing knack of being there whenever needed, but never, ever, 'in our faces'. They bent over backwards to make our stay perfect and 'perfect', it was. We had lots of lovely, interesting afternoon chats in the pool, with chilled wine... bliss!||And the pool, oh, that was fantastic, the weather was hot, but the pool cooled us down.||Hopefully we may return one day, but until then, we take away very happy memories. Thank you so much, Simon and Joan.
