If you're looking for a reasonably priced (by Sydney standards!) hotel in a fairly central location close to shops, cafes and public transport this is an OK bet. There is some construction work going on now that influences my review but the place is quite run down and in need of some work. Was clean, had a microwave, fridge and jug so good for snacks etc. They wanted a security deposit that was not mentioned anywhere during the booking process or communication which always makes me suspicious, I would have not bookwas this known as it always costs due to conversion rates and fees and is never a full refund.

The UNO hotel epitomises cheap hotels however it is even worse than that! We read the reviews just prior to check in but with an open mind, knowing we were literally just going to be sleeping and showering there.|On arrival the desk sign told us to call a number as he was cleaning the roof. We asked to see the room before checking in and had two back up options in mind, ready to lose one night accommodation costs. The lift was not the safest option and does not align with the floor height so we only used it that once. The room had a very distinctive odd smell which initially I thought (hoped) was cleaning products but remained for our two night stay. The floor beside my husbands side of the bed was sinking and broken and we avoided standing there for fear we would fall through the floor. The TV had no remote, there was a jig and milk but no tea or coffee. The bathroom was leaking from somewhere, we never found where, resulting in a constant circle of water around the toilet and a large wet muddle beneath the basin. The light in the bathroom was broken so instead the base and globe of a lamp had been strung up over the mirror and was plugged in. Two towels and no bath at but we found some kind of throw rug on a seat to use. We only spotted two cockroaches in our two nights but literally entered the room after 10pm each night, slept and left by 7. If you want more than a bed and shower (water was hot) stay elsewhere. If you want creature comforts stay elsewhere. If you want a quiet night (building next door has been demolished and is under construction) stay elsewhere. We kept our booking but won’t book again. I found it particularly curious that they charge a $50 security deposit / I felt like charging them one!!

Checked in to Uno Sydney Hotel on 11 May late evening. The lift was out of service and we were given a room on 2 nd floor. Entered the room and there was a bad stench. Room condition was not the best and there was no aircon remote control available. We informed the counter and he couldnt locate another remote control. Offered us another room which he claimed was a very good room. It was indeed a bigger room but the room condition was not only very run down, there was no trash bins and toilet rolls. We thought thiswas as bad as it can get. Little did we know at 0005 hrs while I was dozing off, the room door opened and I heard a murmur, oops! And the door shut. I was in a stateof shock and told myself there may be a miscommunication with the room change. However, the door opened again at 0340hrs and this time it was by a different person. We have been very traumatised by this incident and wished to share to our bad experience. We have requested for a refund as we checkout earlier. But we have not heard from the hotel yet.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!|Upon arrival I watched as 2 parents with a baby in a pram asked why there was no elevator, even though they were told the day before there was. The manager, asian guy, got very aggressive and threatening. Checking into my room, I discovered it was extremely dirty, very stuffy, with mould everywhere. Every night I would wake up with a very sore throat and would have to go for a walk to get some fresh air. During the day outside I would be fine, but as soon as I came back within a few hours my throat would be sore again, breathing in mould or god knows what else. |Cupboards were empty, nothing to eat or drink with, not that I'd use them anyway. The fridge had a massive build up of ice, bed rolled around. Junkies in the lobby, front door left open all night so anyone could get in. Smoke detector was covered with a plastic bag, people had been smoking. Hallways reeked of weed. Manager was found lurking the halls at all sorts of hours, acting very suspicious. |Have called several times trying to get my bond money back, was told I wasnt calling in reception hours (BS it was 2pm). Emailed them, no reply. Also, they didnt put a hold on my card, they actually just charged me $100. Its not pending or anything, they just took the money.|I became very ill after staying here, and these guys are just dodgy as. This hotel is not fit to stay in, and this guy is not fit to run it.|All the other reviews are true. |DO NOT RUIN YOUR HOLIDAY BY STAYING IN THIS DUMP RUN BY DODGY SHYSTERS

I don’t even know where to start with this review. This place is disgusting. Please see the pictures attached of the room we arrived to. Booking.com pictures are not what this hotel is like. We arrived and had went to the lift which is a hazard in its own the buttons are hanging off the floor options and when we got to our floor the lift dropped before opening which made us feel like we weren’t getting out safe to begin with, we walked into the room which was unclean. The shower was vile it hadn’t been touched with any cleaning products. We sat down and noticed all of the marks on the walls, the fridge then the microwave which contained mould. The hallway stunk of weed so strong we could smell it in our room. I went to plug my charger into the wall which has had no issue before and it shocked me, it exploded in my hand as it was switched on. My partner then went to remove it and turn it off and it did the same to him. The burning smell from the charger was unbearable. We had been there for a total for 10 minutes before we couldn’t stick it any longer. Went to reception to ask for an apology & refund for what had happened. When we asked the staff member in charge he got very angry and proceeded to say we are liars. He made my partner go back up to the room and explain the issues when pointed out he said ‘augh it’s an old building’ and then told us to get out and slammed the door behind us. He was the most unpleasant horrible person we have ever dealt with. I left shaking and upset. We recommend this place to be closed and to be reported! We never want anyone to be in the situation we ended up in in this place. HAZARD TO LIFE!!

Faulty towers/ Health Hazard|Arrived here this evening even looking at the outside you can tell this is not your normal hotel or even hostel. The hotel did not even have a lift after travelling 24 hours from the UK with 4 suitcases this was a very big issue.||The reception was unmanned. We were greeted at current guests telling us to avoid at all costs due to the mould in bedrooms been unfit for purpose.||We then nearly 45 minutes later were greeted by a very rude owner who was very threatening towards myself and family. ||I wouldn’t let a cat sleep here never mind a family. ||Avoid this place at all costs unless you want to be threatened or have a trip to hospital due to the health hazard rooms.

Where do I start,STAY AWAY NO MATTER WHAT|Turned up to check in after a 26 hr journey from the UK,at first glance seemed shabby and run down BUT I gave the benefit of doubt (WRONG),I had to leave a $100.00 Bond but this was not stated anywhere on my booking or in the reception.|Checked in and was shown to our ahem “EXECUTIVE ROOM” ()I’d say a prison cell was comfier and cleans as well as MORE INVITING,room smelt damp,shower/toilet was showing damp on the walls(see artsy pictures)kitchenette was filthy and falling apart, kettle and microwave had seen better days, laminated floor was sticky and had big gaps between planks in places, skirting board was coming away from the wall/floor,window was not shutting and had tissue to stop the draught,as for the view well again see pictures for our wonderful view, after all that said the fun really begins sit down grab a brew and let’s continue,|Little creepy crawlies started to appear from various nooks and crannies including the shower room floor drains, after complaining to management/staff we then found out we were NOT in a executive suite but a double room,so we were moved due to the bugs (baby cockroaches)and into our EXECUTIVE ROOM(?)room had been freshly cleaned and bleached in places(not all) room was ever and I mean ever so slightly better, the smoke alarm was covered with a plastic bag the windows didn’t open into our BUILDING SITE view(the nice workers awoke us at 0700 demolishing the building next door(none of this is stated when booking)we over looked the Hotel fire exit which was blocked by bags of rubbish, beds, bedding etc basically a rat infested alley, the kitchenette was filthy inside and out also was the fridge (again see pictures) all this wasn’t helping my wife to sleep and ill with stress,|Then come 0430 a nice full sized adult COCKROACH started crawling on my wife’s head whilst she was sat in bed, let’s just say she was not a happy bunny is a under statement (agin see attached pictures)I managed to catch said cockroach in a clear container and swiftly took him to the 24hr manned reception (WRONG AGAIN)came back to the HOVEL with clear box in hand,to find another COCKROACH just inside the door to our EXECUTIVE ROOM,we had to wait until 0900 for any staff to arrive, the poor receptionist had to face the wrath of my wife who then demanded to see the Manager (who lived in the building)who refused my wife’s kind offer of a chat,WRONG she then spoke to him on the receptionist phone and demanded his came down and after some gentle polite but firm persuasion he finally showed his face,to which he shrugged his shoulders and admitted the hotel had a cockroach infestation months back where pest control was brought in(I think not)and he had no idea when they were coming again,to which we were not happy and went to pack whilst speaking to Expedia who eventually found us alternative accommodation which is absolutely beautiful (yes I really mean that)all pictures I have taken will be attached, apologies for droning on but we don’t want anyone making the same mistake in booking this hovel oooppps sorry dive sorry Hotel

Most appealing property I’ve ever stayed in. Falsely advertised that parking was included, the only reason we booked this hotel. It was not! They directed us to the wrong room first. When we went to the correct room it was disgusting! Mould, broken & jagged tiles, warped spongy floor damaged door. I’ve stayed in some dodgy places before & this was the only time I’ve walked straight out! Worst hotel ever.
