I'd love to get this place a better rating given the view, but the food was just so average... and while we were waiting in the line (which is right by the kitchen), we saw that the chefs were handling diners' food with their bare hands. Against our better judgement, we ordered the prawn pasta and the sausages, both of which were just so forgettable. The only redeeming thing about this place is the view. There are much, much better cafes in the blue mountains, and presumably with better food preparation hygiene practices as well.

Oh wow! What a wonderful experience we had at The Leura Deli. It was great firstly to have somewhere still open until 5 to eat, especially if you were after a late lunch. The staff we so friendly and attentive despite being extremely busy and looked after us! The food was superb and thoroughly delicious! My only criticism if anything, was that I found there coffee a bit blah...but maybe it was just the blend they were using that day.
We at by the big windows so had a lovely view especially in the late afternoon as the sun was moving lower in the sky, it was really lovely and peaceful and everything we could have wanted! We will definitely return!

Lovely place to enjoy a meal with a view. I ordered the chicken leek and potato pie which was creamy and well seasoned. That said, it did get a little dry towards the end.

Enjoyed a morning coffee at this exceptional cafe. Staff were exceptional, courteous and polite and timely in serving us.

Rhubarb and apple pie and raspberry jam was our go to with coffee. Simply amazing. Would highly recommend if visiting the small village of Leura in NSW

We have been twice in recent weeks and whilst the service and atmosphere is great, the food always has a hit & miss.
Such as the salmon was not cooked completely so was raw in some parts.
Steak sandwich- should be renamed the John Wayne steak sandwich it was so tough on the two that were ordered.
We also ordered the banana & white chocolate muffin which were really dry - perhaps were stale.

Can only recommend the sticky date pudding & coffee.

First they lure-a you in with their excellent selection of cheeses and sauces, before knocking you out with the lovely view and excellent view.

I had the salmon today. Lovely. Could have had a few more potatoes but I guess there is something to say about not stuffing myself before an afternoon mountaineering.

What a wonderful experience my husband and I had at this delightful cafe. Excellent, friendly service, quick and efficient! The lasagna and the spaghetti were probably the best I’ve ever had, and I grew up in an Italian community! The dessert of apple and rhubarb cake was incredible! You must try this place if you are visiting the Blue Mountains….simply the best!!!!

If you're Asian, don't come here — you will be treated terribly.

We were a group of six, including two young children and two seniors, and we were the second party in line waiting to be seated. A waitress instructed us to wait by a door marked “staff only,” where staff members were frequently coming and going. One of our children, only four years old, was nearly hit by the swinging door, so we naturally moved slightly forward for safety.

To our shock, the waitress immediately came over and told us—three times—that we must move back, despite the fact that we were merely trying to keep our child out of harm’s way. At that same moment, we observed a group of white diners also waiting to be seated, standing comfortably and undisturbed in the more spacious area near the tables.

When I asked them why we were being told to move to a narrow and unsafe spot for the children — especially when there was clearly a more spacious area in front that was still far from the dining section and wouldn’t disturb anyone while the waitress simply turned away and walked off. Moments later, a man emerged—claiming to represent the restaurant—and told us bluntly that this was their “rule,” and that if we didn’t comply with where they decided we should wait, we had to leave the premises. When we again asked why other guests were permitted to wait elsewhere, he pretended not to understand what I was talking about.

We were deeply offended and humiliated by this interaction. It felt targeted, unjust, and discriminatory. As people of color, it is impossible to ignore the clear contrast in how we were treated compared to white patrons especially in front of our young children.

The entire experience was filled with discrimination and disrespect. Our whole family was shocked and deeply angered. We strongly urge everyone to avoid supporting a restaurant that lacks even the most basic sense of equality and respect.
