This is a more expensive caravan park but the grounds are pleasant and there is lots of shade. My big problem was the amenities. Out of 4 shower stalls, one had a shower head so scaled up you couldn't use it. 2 more were old and not very nice and only 1 had a new, big shower head. The whole block was dated and in need of some care. I would expect better for the price we paid.

Great low key camp ground with everything we needed including 2 pools and restaurant nearby. Out of town, but not far to shops, hospital (which we needed for about a month). Simple but clean amenities.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Would stay again!!

Currently staying on our own ensuite site with our own van. We spent all last dry season in and out of here camping in our rooftop camper. Loved it so much we decided to book in permanently and glamp it up. We are long term locals and previously tried all other van parks around Darwin, only to be disappointed one way or another. We returned here as I remember staying here when first arriving in Darwin 1993! Well, what a surprise, this place hasn't changed a bit. Thats not a criticism, rather a relief! In short; this place has everything from solid built infrastructure that has stood the test of time remarkably, extremely well maintained and serviced, loads of amenities including camp kitchens (yes, plural) heaps of space, greenery, bird life etc. Not regimented like all other parks these days. Not one interference in over a year of staying here, great staff, awesome pool and recreation areas, including campfire places (when conditions permit) RaRaRa! Seriously, what more could you ask for? Oh, rates? Yes, best value for thousands of kilometres!! And, location location location! Literally 400meters to the beach for sunsets, picnics etc, and 10min drive to multiple shopping centres, Nightcliff beach, casuarina etc. Bloody awesome! Absolute gem

Lee Point Holiday park review

Price is $40 for unpowered site per night for two adults. Not sure about the pet policy but I did see a small dog.
Weekly rate for an unpowered site of $210 for one person or $245 for two adults. But if you’re a cheeky Frenchman with a rooftop tent you can just drive in after dark and camp for free like our neighbour did because apparently the staff didn’t check.
Unpowered area is dusty and in a wind tunnel. This helps minimise mosquitoes though. The wind can wreak havoc on your awning if not secured properly. You’ve been warned.

Amenities: Hot water in showers and sinks. (Most of the time) Always toilet paper and handsoap available. Toilet block cleaned and bins emptied daily as far as I can tell.
Several power outlets available in the communal sink areas. Opinions on the facilities will be relative. If you have been staying in rest areas and free camps on your road trip then this place will be luxury, if you are used to 4+ star hotels, then they will feel a bit dated, and worn down, but still fully functional nonetheless.

Laundry is $5 with plenty of clothes lines available for drying which are also undercover in case of rain. Pegs available to buy at the reception. Would be smart to bring your own.

Location: Walkable and cycle-able distance to Lee Point Beach reserve recreation area along a segregated shared pathway. 7 minute drive to nearest shopping centre at casuarina for groceries. 15-20 minute drive from Darwin city centre. Minimal road noise in the unpowered section but it would be louder along the western edge of the premises along Lee Point road. Boy racers and fisherman with their utes and boats driving by at 70+kph to the boat ramp at buffalo creek. A few shadey spots available especially along the southern fence line in the unpowered section, but again, the wind will cover you in crap from said trees. but lots of sunny spots if you need the solar power. Relatively flat but there are minor slopes so you have to think about it if you don’t want blood rushing to your head while you sleep. The curbs along the access road are quite high and must be mounted to get to the campsites, but I’m sure that will be fine for your RAM or ranger pavement princess, despite it likely never going off-road before now

We spent 2 weeks in the caravan park here and loved it. We had an ensuite site. Everything is rather old and tired but well maintained. It’s in a great location just a short walk to the beach, the MTB trails are across the road and the resort is next door with a restaurant, second pool etc. It was much cheaper than all the other parks and much quieter. We had a huge site. There is rubbish collection of your own bins (provided in ensuite) twice a week and an elderly gentleman collects your 10c bottles in a crate that he places at your site. You get a discounted rate if you stay 2 weeks or more. The ladies at reception were very helpful. Our fav campground to stay in Darwin!

It is a lovely park, sloping sites an issue. We stayed 2 weeks and were disappointed with the other travellers- they all knew eachother and were very clicky. Thr staff were lovely.

We were in powered en-suite caravan site. Nice grassy location. Quiet spot about 20 minutes from Darwin CBD and waterfront areas. Good base to explore Darwin.

RUDE, ATROCIOUS customer service.

I have been a regular visitor. Approximately 18 weeks (cumulatively over 3 years) as a paying campground customer.

A couple of weeks ago, I stayed most recently for two weeks.

This time around:

Customer service &/or a warm welcome: NON- EXISTENT.

Facilities: Very tired.

Made me question my future plans for staying.

Then it was decided for me.

The way I was treated today - I will NEVER return.

What went down . . .

I returned yesterday, for one night, with the intention of staying several weeks from mid June. The Receptionist knew this.

Today, I vacated my campsite before check-out time. Thought I would have one quick last swim. Ten minutes past technical check-out time in a pool that I have swum in approx. 60 times. On all bar 3 of these 60 occasions no one else using pool. Today - no one there.

I was RUDELY told to leave, by the same person who knew well my long-term loyal record, & plans for staying in the future.

Just yesterday, I asked this same person for something, & was bluntly told by her that she has a new year’s resolution to put herself above all customer requests.

AMAZING.

Some people are suited to Hospitality roles. Some are not.

You decide if I have a valid reason for being dis-heartened by what has gone down.

Most people would be pissed-off.
