This place is well worth the effort. The experience is simply awesome. I truly enjoyed the way this couple shared their history of wanting to keep a part of history alive by sharing with others. Definitely a must on your Bucket List for a unique experience. This was a surprise for my kids after getting through a rough year and a half. A well earned family trip. Will definitely be back to visit and hopefully experience the Wagon Tour 🙂

We did the wagon tour today and loved it. Our hosts were delightful - so knowledgeable and passionate. We were treated to smoko with Billy Tea (in my case coffee) and home cooked sweet treats. We watched an informative film about the Texas cattle drives and then boarded the horse drawn hand made wagon for a trip through the paddocks to see the variety of cattle on display. Mick is a raconteur with a cheeky sense of humour and kept us thoroughly entertained while educating us about the longhorns, bison, water buffalo and other species. On our return his wife Linda gave a talk on the artificial insemination methods used on their breeding program. We finished at the building housing a monument to JR, the Guinness World record holder for the longest horns. The impressive beast passed away last year. This was a really entertaining and informative morning that should be on everyone's to do list.

First how to get there: Charters Towers, From highway 63 get into Urdera Road and follow signs. DO NOT USE GPS. You might not reach in Time as GPS might pick another Road that is closed.

Google Maps need to move its Location on Urdera Road to avoid GPS misguiding you.

Be relaxed and have a sense of humour to really
enjoy this place. Maintaining tradition, preserving history in the field of leather work and several breeds of cattle including Texas Longhorn are the core essence of their passion.
