A short drive from the city centre this is a must see. The 1 hour tour of the beautifully restored Homestead is worth the cost. The cafe is also great place for lunch or afternoon tea.

I did an early morning photography workshop here in Winter hosted by Lanyon Homestead. The staff were so friendly and the tour guide fabulous. The Cafe was cosy and the coffee amazing! Access is via an unsealed road so keep this in mind when you drive. There is a bit of a walk from the car park but I believe they provide a buggy for those with mobility issues. I also saw a disabled car park next to the cafe but I am not sure how to access this. If you are interested in historic properties then this is a must see. Entry includes a tour for a small fee. There are preserved buildings with farm machinery and informative signs. The gardens are beautiful with vegetables and flowers and some very large trees. Check out their virtual tour online before you go.

We loved our visit there, such a nice and peaceful place. We went there for brunch. Fresh scones and pancakes were the best. Service was a bit slow. I wish they had fresh juice options. Overall a good experience.
Would definitely be back for the lunch menu in summer 😊

Clearly the old "squire's" property, preserved and presented for the modern public. Fabulous gardens, homestead and buildings, farm sheds and implements.
Good interpretive signs.
Easy parking, access for prams and wheelchairs (watch if muddy).
Great for kids, families, couples, groups, or the fossils.

Mother's day, a choice of 3 toasties at $14.50each hardly anything on them, or raison toast for $10, just the one like Woolies sell.
Some cakes and coffee
Coffee was nice
Where's the restaurant?
Tour prices quite high considering you can walk through the old buildings for free unless you want to know more about the history.
The garden's and view beautiful
Next time we will take our own picnic
No cash was very annoying
