We stayed here for one night. Before booking, we read reviews that mentioned toilet problems, but those reviews were from many years ago. Our intuitive feeling is that the lake is very beautiful and you can swim in a particular area.The ducks are very cute and integrated with nature. The toilets are very clean. At around 4 o'clock, I saw the staff member Jess running back and forth between the two toilets doing cleaning and maintenance. Jess is a very nice girl and I had a misunderstanding with her. But it was my mistake that would happen to her, so I apologized again. Come play here you won't regret it. By the way, there is a fire pit in front of everysite and you can buy marshmallows and wood.

The showers are $1 for minutes - old but adequate.

We have been to Lake Lyell 3rd time now. The view is so peaceful. Best low cost waterfront camping on even ground. Can park our boat infront our campsite. All sites come with a fireplace. Toilet is ok. Shower is coin operated for $1 every 3mins. Office do sell hot food, coffee, firewood, ice creams, tackles and common items. It has Optus network but not Telstra network. Pet friendly. Caught 9 rainbow trouts around 26cm in 3D2N trip there. Both from shore or boat. Released 7. Pretty relaxing and fun.

Passing by the dam, I didn't venture into the camping areas like I have before. The camping grounds are large and allow visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery while relaxing.

Camped on powered site, not experience caravan campers so thought powered ment water to. no water provided (is noted on there site we just forgot) so had to pop out to Lithgow showground to top up the tanks, staff were good to provide us with directions. Lake was lovely to swim in. Loads of friendly visitors but not intrusive. Most people are considerate about noise at night, was very quite the first night. The second there was a noisy large party but they where soon told politely to turn off the loud music (I assumed but the staff there) Site facilities are reasonable clean. Would definitely go back for another stay.

Spent the weekend camping here. The lake is quite beautiful to look at and great to be able to camp right on the waterside. The campsites are pretty cramped together for the most part so it loses its peacefulness unless you have one of the secluded sites . Amenities are quite poor, only two toilets and two showers for the entire camping grounds, so they get dirty quite quickly and are really outdated and can be pretty far walk depending where your site is (and up the hill). The power went out while I was there so no running water and no showers for a bit. If you hiked all the way there to use the loo at that time it was pretty annoying. $1 shower for 3 mins. I'd rather pay more for a site if they had better and more amenities. No where to fill up water or wash dishes so makes things a bit more difficult. Dog friendly. Overall an okay stay but I'd prefer to stay at other camp grounds

Lovely place to camp, one of my favourites actually; perfect to go alone or with friends and family. It's not overly far from Sydney either, so it's great for a little weekend getaway. I always make sure I book before going in, so my space is secured.

Bring your swimmers, paddleboards, or fishing equipment and utilise all the facilities in this place. There are showers available, but you need to pay for them, so get your gold coins ready, and they are timed.

Nice location, site 57 was too sloped with no flat area for a tent. Loud DJ/ party noise coming across the lake all night. Very dirty amenities.
