Awful campsite.
The people who run it are friendly enough, but the maintenance is non-existent and negligent.
Garbage all over the place with no attempt to clean or tidy. Toilet block filthy and unhygienic - dead flies covering all surfaces, non existent or wet toilet paper, taps only sometimes working, faeces covered toilets, and barely any attempt to clean.
Swimming pool had rusty metal hanging from the cover, barely holding on by a thread.
Sites flood in the rain and become a swamp - made even worse for us as we were downstream of their animals, so goodness knows what was it that ‘mud’. There were quite a few green patches of mud next to our camper.
Speaking of animals, they include goats that cry at all hours and a rooster that crows through the night. Goats and horses etc all behind an electric fence so no feeding or petting as depicted on the website.
Price was extortionate for what you get - $255 for 2 adults and 2 kids for 3 nights. Plus $10 PER child PER day to use 2 inflatable water slides, a bouncy castle, and a dunk tank (which the kids said smelt awful).
Don’t get me wrong, our kids and their friends still managed to have lots of fun, and had great fun playing in the dam, but we will absolutely NOT be returning.

Over night stay with the bf, camp sight has great views to the lake, we were happy with the customer service very polite and helpful, yes the place needs a little TLC if you’re set up is full self sufficient it’s a great time, would suggest to clean the bathrooms and showers and the old glamping set ups to either be removed or fixed up. The animals looked fat and happy well looked after they are very friendly. Over all well priced just needs some love.

i have been here a number of times and have referred all of my friends and family to this camp grounds.

for $19.50 a night you get a massive camp site. we were even allowed to take up multiple dependent on bookings and your group size. a hot shower while camping is always nice, and these are definitely well appreciated. i noted the staff cleaning these facilities multiple times during each of my stays, the toilets were well cleaned too.

i found the camp ground owner, douggie, to be accommodating, helpful and receptive. our texts to him we’re always answered in a timely manner. he even put in the effort to ensure each of my friends had made it safely to the camp ground- waiting outside to ensure they were safely guided to the right spot! i cannot recommend him enough.

firewood delivered right to your site, in a timely manner.

we also forgot a few things on our last trip and the store had it all!

will definitely be returning again soon!

We left after just 4 hours. Not a comfortable feeling with 2 young children with drug-effected permanent residents coming out of their shacks to look over our car / caravan set up on arrival, rubbish, scrap metal, scrapped cars, dilapidated camper trailer & caravans, algae in pool, unmaintained toilets, no potable water (only bore water available) & poorly kept sites. Owner / Concierge was clearly trying to help and a really nice bloke but sorry we will not be returning or recommending. We did not feel safe at all.

I wish I could give this zero possibly negative stars! This place is 110% false advertising at its finest and I don’t know how they are getting away with it. It was dodgy from the start and we should have seen the red flags, no need to make a booking, cash payments, show up anytime. But their website made the campgrounds look amazing with an abundance of activities and amenities.

We arrived for our 2 x night stay to a run down old junk yard that has been used as a dumping site. Campsite had lovely views of the dam but that was the only positive. Amenties so run down and filthy they were unusable, broken glass everywhere, run down ‘glamping tents’ that were fully assessable and full of rubbish, underfeed horses, a green pool, overgrown grass throughout, piles of unwanted household items, junk junk and more junk. After going for a walk around the next day it just got worse, extremely dodgy looking permanent residence lurking around looking you up and down. That was enough for us we packed up and came home early, not safe and definitely not the ‘resort’ they advertise. If you want the full Hills have eyes experience this is the perfect place for you but if not, stay away!

My family and I stayed at Lake Atkinson waterfront camping and it has become a new favourite camp site. The view of the dam is absolutely spectacular and we were able to swim and kayak to our heart's content. The site was very easy to locate and access in a 2WD and the staff are super friendly and enthusiastic. The shower facilities are probably the nicest I have ever used with nice hot water and tiled interiors. Although probably more targeted for kids, we had the opportunity to hop on a 'theme-park esque' bus/carriage and go around to see goats, horses, sheep, and my personal favourite the 2 week old goats that I had the opportunity to hold! Very very cute. Also, there is a quaint rustic shop with the essentials we needed including delicious milkshakes to beat the heat. There is rain water available for drinking and it was fine. Thank you Dougie and the team!!!

The reviews are accurate but honestly we enjoyed it. It is a little eccentric but just needs a bit of TLC and it sounds like they want to do that. A lake view with amenities and abundant wildlife is what you actually get. If you are after a bnb or at home style accomodation then skip, if you are after an unpretentious unwind and are selfsufficient then stay here near beautiful esk it's just right. It's all about the view for us.

100% fulse advertising.
Ran out of water in the filthy showers that were full of people.
The place is filthy.
Toilet and shower blocks are going to fall over soon. No toilet paper.
The pool is that cold that you can't swim in it cover over it 24 hours a day. It used to be heated and when the heater broke they just left it.
Grass needs to be cut around the campsites.
The shop smells so can't buy anything from there.
Caretaker rides a 4 wheeler around dangerously.
Pizzas hahaha that's a joke.
Would be awesome if someone ran it and cared about the place it has just been let go so sad.
Caretakers/Owners were in the same clothes the whole time we were there.

This place reminded me of the movie Hills With Eyes

DO NOT STAY HERE..
HOW THIS PLACE HAS NOT BEEN SHUT DOWN I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND.
