From the moment my son and I entered everything was sensational. The staff were wonderful, atmosphere delightful and food just bloody beautiful. Just disappointed there was no sticky date for dessert 😉

The food is great with much quantity. I really enjoyed the chilly cheese eggs as the flavour and chilly notes really blended with the soft scrambled eggs.

During a recent trip to Lismore, I found myself enjoying a delightful breakfast at the La Baracca in Lismore.

The ‘About’ information on the website explains that the owners are ex-teachers, and as an ex-teacher myself - I am pleased to support all of those who are wise enough to escape and happy to give them a good report card.

My friend enjoyed the Fungi Breakfast (sautéed garlic/thyme and butter mushrooms on sourdough), while I had the Chilli and Cheese (scrambled eggs with chilli oil and chorizo). Both dishes were delicious, my eggs weren’t too chilli, and we both enjoyed our teas and coffees.

It was a busy morning, but the staff were friendly and seemed really dedicated to their jobs, I saw them interacting well with older and younger patrons.

It’s a large space, but I found it to be warm and welcoming. I look forward to returning one day to try their dinner service and wine list.

Went in for breakfast, Waited 45 mins from ordering to food arrival, it wasn't even busy! had to go to the counter to ask if it was still coming. No apologies for the wait when it did arrive.
Got eggs Benny. For the premium price of $25 I expected something fairly good. Food was cold on arrival, hardly any hollandaise, and it was bubbly and watery.
Won't be back!

Went for dinner here. Saturday night and atmosphere was lacking- younger waitress and bar girl were freindly. Other waitress was pretty rude. Sent a steak back due to not being cooked to my liking and after 20 minutes it came back and nobody checked- very average. Won’t be rushing back which is a shame because it has potential.

A recommendation from another restaurant, that surely says something about the quality of the food. Dining inside and out. Good beer and cocktail range. The special pasta of the day was superb, a combination of seafood and salami. Staff super friendly and attentive. Busy coffee machine working overtime as well. A great spot to sit and relax for lunch or grab a bite to go.

A stylish restaurant with a good menu. The food is quality and unpretentious. The service was excellent. A well stocked wine list and a front bar for those who are just looking for casual drinks. Well worth the visit.

Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The french toast was the most uniquely created french toast I've had and it was delicious. Very memorable! The tea is hands down the most enjoyable pot i've had in any cafe in Lismore. Earl grey fan very pleased thankyou!~!

As for the atmosphere/ decor could do with some better warmer lighting especially outside the lights are too bright and artificial looking. Inside there is plenty of room for more cosy chairs like the one little set in the corner which is great. And more tables surely could fit, perhaps some round ones:)) The music is too loud outside but the waitress happily turned it down for me which made it so much more enjoyable for talking.

The meals are great in my opinion.
The staff were very welcoming. We were well looked after.
