Our stay at Kittawa Lodge (and specifically, in the beautiful and newly opened Kittawa Retreat) exceeded our expectations. The villa is beautifully appointed, with gorgeous linens on the cloud-like bed, a kitchen with everything you need to whip up your breakfast and dinner and picture windows to capture the dreamy sunsets.

All of the food provisions were thoughtfully put together based on our pre selected preferences, and the wines and cocktails available for purchase were excellent. Days were spent lazing in front of the fire, napping, and enjoying the giant bath. We managed to leave the villa for some golf and hiking, but coming back to the hot tub was a total treat. My goodness, this hot tub. Perfect for watching the sun set and waves crash offshore with a glass of bubbles in hand, it was a perfect end to every day.

I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to Aaron and Nick, the owners and hosts of Kittawa. They have created a true haven and their love of hospitality shines through. Personable, discerning, and highly personalised service was an absolute highlight.

We enjoyed an in-villa 4 course menu prepared and served to us on our last night and it was delightful, and Aaron’s gnocchi is something I’m still thinking about. Nick is a dessert wizard - a special mention must go to his carrot cake which was the best I’ve ever had.

If you are looking for a remote escape, where you can truly disconnect and enjoy incredible scenery, food and privacy, book it. We hope to one day return.

What a wonderful place. Experienced the amazing hospitality of Kittawa 2 years ago. The memories still linger. At a time in our lives when we were working through decisions about future directions (work life versus living) the wonderful respite of Kittawa was the balm that set up a series of decisions that I remain grateful for. This stay is far more than a "stay". Its amazing accomodation, hosting par-exellence and gorgeous, timeless respite. It was a much needed reset and a launching pad to where we find ourselves today. Which is not working full time, retired and enjoying living, rather than surviving! Thank you Aaron and Nick, it's a joy to have spent time in your wonderful lodge!

We had very high expectations for our stay at Kittawa Lodge based on previous reviews and their website content.
These were immediately exceeded due to the rugged and remote coastal setting, the exceptional design of the individual lodges, high quality of the food and drink provided, the abundant wildlife around the lodge and the exceptional service from our hosts, Aaron and Nick.
Strongly recommended for a visit as the lodge experience is equal to any other luxury accommodation in Australia, which is heightened by the unique experience of King Island - rugged beauty, history and ease of exploring.

Thank you Nick and Aaron for giving us the Kittawa lodge experience….
We have stayed at many luxury lodges and this is up there with the best of them!
Unique experience with a true ability to disconnect!
We took some time to reflect and be present as a couple and of course get away from the hustle and bustle.
King Island awesome 😎
Highly recommend!
We will be back !!!’

We stayed at Kittawa lodge in February 2024 to celebrate an anniversary. Whilst the road in and long driveway are quite scenic, they don't quite prepare you for rounding that final bend and the view of the rugged coastline and the beautiful little cottages perched atop the headland.

Aaron and Nick have done a wonderful job of creating a simple but luxurious escape from the burdens of the modern world (there is wifi if you really need it). The cottages are large and spacious, with ample room to relax and just watch the wallabies and waves roll by.

We stayed for 5 nights, which gave us ample time to enjoy a different corner of King Island every day. And each day we arrived back to find the fridge stocked with provisions for the evening meal.

I must say, I think Aaron and Nick have undersold the food aspect. It's more than just provisions. Almost everything is done for you, and really all that's left is to fry or roast a protein. We had the added challenge of one vegetarian and one meat eater, which was absolutely no problem.

In summary, great location, excellent accommodation, wonderful hosts. Definitely recommend the visit.

I almost didn’t want to write something about Kittawa Lodge, because it’s such a special gem that I wanted to keep it to ourselves, a secret. Our stay there is one of the most memorable experiences of our lives.

Staying at Kittawa Lodge, we got a piece of the world – untouched and nature exactly as it is – wholly to ourselves for a few days. We enjoyed the stunning views and power of nature without meeting anyone, except for the wallabies roaming freely in the land, and Nick and Aaron arranging the delicious meals. We kept being impressed and stunned by the ultimate personalisation and care by Aaron and Nick, and the high-end items the lodge was equipped with. I was pregnant, so our fridge was stocked up with quality alcohol-free drinks (alongside high-end wines for my partner), rain boots for us to walk safely in the high grass with and there were even training mats for us to do our workouts.

Nick and Aaron made it a top-notch experience; they put effort into “the little extras” (lives’ pleasures are often in the small details!), helped us with recommendations, and were extremely welcoming, kind, easy-going yet professional.

Our warmest thank you for this ultra-luxury experience. We can’t wait to be back.

A spectacular venue with gracious, discreet hosts Nick and Aaron providing outstanding meals of local produce for us to cook at our leisure, complemented by an excellent wine list to choose from.

On arrival we were greeted by Nick welcoming us with a superb platter of chacuterie and local cheese and pouring a delicious Piper sparkling rose.

As well as all meals we were spoiled with baked treats, and other local snacks were provided for us to enjoy throughout the day.

Set in awe inspiring surroundings in the wilderness, the lodge demonstrates Nick and Aaron's fine attention to detail in all respects. Stunning local art work decorates the rooms and we purchased a stunning triptych to remind us of our wonderful stay.

Words cannot do justice to our experience and we already plan to return.
Do not put it on "the bucket list", plan a stay at Kittawa soon.
