This has become my second home since moving here from Brisbane and I love the place and the people. The pies are a Tenterfield staple, with my favourite being the lamb and red wine. The coffee's hot and good, well presented without pretension. The staff are excellent. They're efficient and attentive while still being genuine and genuinely happy. Why is that so rare these days? The owner is a gem of local knowledge and wisdom and probably a big reason why the staff are so happy. Highly recommended.

The federation pies are the best. They are made onsite and have some great flavours to choose from. We always stop here for a pie when going through. Here is the Steak Diane pie.

Federation Pies are the bomb!!!! Coffee is best in town. Great warm cafe with awesome atmosphere!!! Young lady serving with amber hair was very friendly and personable. Thankyou!!!

Best steak and kidney pie of the 'ROAD TRIP' thus far(real steak chunks and kidney). Staff were lovely and plated our pie up with a little side salad. Coffee was steaming hot and delicious. If I wasn't a tourist I would be back again tomorrow. Thank you guys n girls.

Just absolutely awesome. Cafe had just closed, it was no problem to reopen. Served us with fresh pies and hot coffee. Can't fault this type of customer service.

If your driving through Tenterfield, do your face a favour a get a pie. Cast iron baked beef stew pies. Keep in mind when muching down on one, that your finger are in there somewhere. Had a miner ncident.

Coffee was basically just milk. Mug of flat white didn't taste like it had even one full shot of coffee in it. Industry standard is two shots of coffee in a mug. Can't comment on quality/roast as I litterally couldn't taste it.

Food was good, ingredients were fresh. Eggs were perfectly poached. Pies has tasty pastry and filling.

Wait time was reasonable. Staff were friendly. Cash only ☹️

We’d stopped in Tenterfield for coffee before and were disappointed so we chose this place after checking some reviews.

Two piccolo’s were ordered $9 after longer than expected we were served very strong brew with poorly textured milk!

I returned them and was told they were double shot piccolo coffee’s! Not sure why as we never drink double shot coffee. The man was perplexed and stated he was proud of his 20kg coffee sales a week... on the menu cover it clearly states ‘best coffee outside of Italy’... well sadly this is certainly not the case, maybe not the worst either but not far off.
