Absolutely stunning We loved our stay we stayed in the king's room and it did not disappoint. Bucket list has been ticked.

Loved my stay here. Shirley was the friendliest hostess who went above and beyond in making our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent and the unexpected soups for dinner were very tasty. The only thing I could say against the castle is the beds were to hard. I love a soft bed.

Hidden away in country New South Wales this historical gem is managed by Shirley & Trevor Crampton. They are so passionate about the castle and its history and it shows. They are welcoming beyond measure.
The castle is BEAUTIFUL and drips with history and the breakfast was fantastic.
The property is set on a working property but it didn't impact our stay at all, and the rural setting made us feel we were a world away from the usual hustle and bustle.
We will be staying again for sure, considering we didn't want to leave...

Our family (2A, 2teens) had the privilege of staying 2 nights in this beautiful castle during a holiday touring around NSW tablelands. Our hosts were amazing, and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. I can not recommend Kings Plains Castle enough. The entire family wanted to stay longer! The king room is spectacular! And our teens were happy stayung in their own double single bed room with access to their own bathroom. We spent hours playing tennis, pool, exploring the property and being treated to a wood fire in the evenings. |Breakfast was a great hot breakfast, and we had full access to a well set up industrial kitchen to cater for our own lunches and dinners. |There is so much to do around the property, or you can simply sit back with a beautiful view and watch the abundant bird life. Do yourself a favour and book longer than you think. I would highly recommend staying here!

We had the great pleasure of staying here for five nights in January. A privilege to stay in this house which surely must rank among top Australian architectural gems. Scott is a gentleman, the house in all it's eccentric grandeur is kept impeccably, breakfasts are elegant, served either on the ivy-laden, tranquil veranda or in the sunny dining room (complete with cloth napkins). And yet all of this is unfussy and totally relaxed. There is also a superb professional kitchen for prepping dinners. And billiards downstairs if you like. And wonderful gardens with giant oak trees and roses.||||If you are having second thoughts about a (possible) detour to get here - do it! We'd be back if we could only get away for a weekend from Sydney.||||A highly memorable week in our lives.

Kings Plains Castle is Located a 40 minute drive out of Glen Innes NSW , and well worth the trip , Firstly you arrive at a Working Station that does not intrude in the least , wide open grounds with a Genuine Scottish Castle to meet you , Shirley , a wonderfull Hostess is right there to Welcome you , and take great care of you , after the long drive she immediately makes you feel right at home , refreshing drink , warm fire , ( cold outside ) good comfortable rooms , local news update , terrific food , what ever you need or want , Shirley is righ on it with efficiency that is amazing ! The Castle itself is a attraction in that its Roomy , well furnished , Comfortable and welcoming , Thanks for Everything Shirley , we will be back .

We've just returned from a 3 night stay at this beautiful castle. The hosts are very generous and made our time there absolutely fantastic. The bedrooms are very comfortable, the dining room is a stand-out, the kitchen is well-stocked and there's loads of information on the history of this place.

We spent three nights in this wonderful place. Beautifully restored, we stayed in the King room which was very large with many windows allowing heaps of light to flood the room. Great host and wonderful full breakfasts. A great place to escape from it all. Highly recommended!!!
