What a beautiful island! We partook in the beauty spots tour and Ranger Andrew was amazing! We really enjoyed our getaway, from visiting the village store to all the welcoming and friendly staff. It was so nice to see how the resort and staff were so respectful to the land and want to protect the flora and fauna. We hope to make it back here again.||||||Tip: If you do the beauty spots tour and the pilots are out on the beach. The island flight is a MUST, the view was absolutely amazing.

Beautiful place, the resort is good, comfortable and clean rooms, good pool area, very good buffet breakfast, acceptable for lunch and dinner. They need more options for lunch and dinner (for example there are no pastas or pizzas) and perhaps a kids club and something to entertain the passengers during the night. But in general, for 2 or 3 days it is a very good place and the excursions are fantastic!

This was a special birthday getaway and did not disappoint! Everything was well organized from checking in at Hervey Bay, having our cases delivered to our room and the very attentive staff throughout the resort. The ‘what’s on’ guide was so informative and allowed us to plan our days. The walking tracks were great and we also thoroughly enjoyed the ranger guided activities. The attention to detail was incredible from the complimentary celebratory sparkling in our room to the delicious dessert accompanied by birthday greetings.

Overall Atmosphere:
The resort offers a pleasant atmosphere and a beautiful island experience.

Service:
While most of the staff were friendly and professional, we did encounter a few instances of miscommunication and less-than-ideal service. With some additional training, the overall service experience could be greatly improved.

Restaurant Experience:
The Sand and Wood restaurant has potential but would benefit from greater consistency in service. There were some misunderstandings regarding food delivery policies and occasional lapses in attentiveness from staff. Addressing these issues could enhance the dining experience significantly.

Island and Tour Guide:
The island itself is breathtaking, and our tour guide made our trip truly special with excellent insights and support throughout.

Breakfast Buffet:
The breakfast buffet offers basic options like cheese, bacon, ham, and bread. While it meets basic expectations, a more varied selection would elevate the experience for guests.

Conclusion:
The resort’s beautiful setting and excellent tour guide were the highlights of our stay. While there were minor service issues with a few staff members, the majority were helpful and professional. We’re hopeful that management will take steps to address these areas and improve the overall guest experience.

The resort itself is everything you could want: clean and very spacious villas, boasting a beautiful view on the sea.
Swimming pool is great, with lots of shaded areas and the beach and forests are just a stroll away.
There is a convenience shop across the reception.
The only downside from my perspective was the food. Restaurants close very early (if you book an evening tour make sure you have dinner before or risk not having dinner) and staff seemed overwhelmed.
When we were there, there weren’t many people (2 large tables of 10 people but then only 3 tables of 2) but they turned us away. Despite it stating on the website that the pool restaurant didn’t require booking... So we ended up at the other restaurant but had to go there under torrential rain. Luckily, there is a regular shuttle to go from one location to the other.
At checkout, our bill didn’t match our booking, so we asked for details which were provided verbally. After settling the bill, we received the next day the itemized invoice and realized that it was wrong. Thankfully, the resort rapidly corrected and processed a refund. But my recommendation for the resort would be to directly issue the itemized bill to prevent any back and forth.
Finally, I would strongly recommend booking the various tours and presentations delivered by passionate experts and filled with interesting information.

The location is spot on from the ferry. And the sunset from the beach is amazing. Dune restaurant is a recommended place for dinner. Enjoyed spotting a Dingo on the beach. Hiring a 4WD from the island at Aussie Trax was a good option. It would be helpful hint to hire the vehicle for at least two days. There is a lot to see and distance might not be far, but along the sand tracks it does take time. Places to visit- Pinnacle, Maheno Shipwreck, Eli Creek, Eurong, McKenzie Lake, Boonmanjin Lake, and Central Station. Enjoy the planes landing on the beach and be very careful of the high tide times as this is crucial for your safety.

A lovely place to stay , has some nice walks around the site , the food in Dune is beautiful. Having a beer/wine at the sunset bar is highly recommended. All in all you have to come here and take in the beauty of this island , if it's drinking sessions and wild parties don't come here this is not for you .

Staying at Kingfisher was a lovely change to our regular K'gari east coast stays. It was nice to have that little bit of luxury on this beautiful island before "roughing" it like we usually do when we stay on K'gari. The Illumina light show was a standout experience. Well worth the stay. As was the Dune restaurant - Asian food to match the best I have eaten (and I have eaten a LOT of good Asian food, being part Asian myself).
