So for $700 a night had a group of teenagers with a boom box outside our room shining tourch inside our ‘private retreat’
We Called reception, ‘a manger came and said ‘they’re nice kids and it’s a public beach’…
Not exactly the ‘private retreat’ we signed up for, for $700 a NIGHT!
Been here before and was beautiful, would NOT recommend it to anyone after tonight. We have another night of this bliss… might head home,would be more of a ‘retreat’

My partner and I stayed here for the long weekend from 3/10-7/10. We left to do activities in the morning of Sunday 6/10 and when we got back to the room at around 9pm, we looked around and there were flying insects in almost every nook and cranny of our bungalow, including all over our bed (see photos). After investigating, we found out the housekeeper had the windows open during the day letting the bugs in. This would have been fine if it wasn’t for the fact that the reception desk is closed after 6pm on Sunday and no one picks up the “after hours” emergency number either, we called over 20 times. We managed to find a bottle of Mortein bug spray in the cupboard which we sprayed around the room, but obviously after spraying that amount of Mortein and not being able to open the windows for ventilation, we had no choice but to stand outside for an hour in the cold and wait for the chemicals to settle. When we went back inside we had to take the sheets/pillows off the bed since there were dead bugs everywhere and sleep on a single sheet with no blankets. Throughout the night the bugs kept falling on us while we were in bed and we would wake up with bugs crawling around and under us. Truly traumatising. In the morning we spoke to the receptionist and she told us management was not in that day (public holiday) and they would call us on Tuesday so we left after barely getting any sleep. On Tuesday, no one had called by midday so I called the “hotel” and they said management was not in again, but later changed their story saying management will call me later. Once the owner called, I was met with a very dismissive attitude from this bloke who seemed like he had 100 better things to do than discuss what happened saying “we apologised a hundred times, I don’t know what you want me to do”. I had to practically beg for compensation and all he said was “we thoughtfully dismissed the charge for the dinner and that should be enough compensation” (the dinner was $200 and I practically paid almost $3,000 to practically sleep with bugs crawling around my bed). This is not a five-star hotel at all, I would warn anyone to think twice before booking.

Sitting on our room balcony, there's something special about the experience of watching surfers catching the early morning break, witnessing early morning swimmers pass by, and seeing whales splashing in the distance. It's truly unique to just take a dozen steps to feel the sand between your toes, although the cheap plastic balcony furniture seemed out of place with these experiences and to the rest of the room.||While our beachfront spa room was nicely presented and elegant, for us, it lacked a high-end or modern feel, especially the bathroom.||Our dinner was enjoyable, though I expected something better. It's been a while since I've experienced a restaurant where the waiter returns to explain they've run out of my chicken choice. So my second choice meal, was… my second choice. Unfortunately, I remembered this place as the go-to spot for food; breakfast, lunch, and dinner.||Nevertheless, it's definitely a location where you feel cocooned from the outside world which creates that sense of escape that’s also easily accessible by car from Sydney.

Had a lovely stay at Kim’s for our 2nd year anniversary. Our bungalow had everything we needed. It was relaxing to go to sleep and wake up with the sound of the waves.
The only low point was the quality of the dinner meals. They were good but not quite the standard/ value for money you expect from a highly rated restaurant.

This is our 5th visit to this exceptional beachside boutique venue. The location is superb and unique. We always stay in a villa right on the beach...going to sleep to the sound of the waves is better than taking a valium pill !!! The accommodation is superb, the staff are exceptional. The restaurant is fabulous. Diana and Peter, whom are part of the ownership, are hands on exceptional managers. The staff are equally as terrific. We will return here regularly...as we have and as we will. Cannot recommend this unique venue more highly.

I recently stayed at Kim's retreat based on family recommendations, and it exceeded all expectations. The management and location were outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The Reef View Deluxe Terrace Villa was breathtaking, and as someone who values privacy, it was perfect. Moreover, the in-house service, provided free of charge, was a delightful bonus, adding even more value to our stay. And not to forget, the breakfast and dinner offerings were simply amazing, completing the exceptional experience. I highly recommend Kim's retreat to anyone seeking a luxurious and memorable getaway. Definitely will be the booking again within the next few months.

We recently had the pleasure of a two-night stay at Kim's in a Garden Bungalow, complete with parking and a full breakfast.
We wouldn't hesitate to return and highly recommend this experience. It truly felt like a nostalgic journey back to genuine, warm hospitality where local people welcome travellers to enjoy a little piece of their paradise.

The Garden Bungalow was just as described—lovely and roomy, with an extremely cosy bed and a well-appointed bathroom, all set in charming rustic seaside surroundings that were tranquil, perfect for afternoon siestas.
Although you might encounter a boisterous group or their raucous laughter, it does little to disturb the overall serene vibe.

The staff were outstanding, providing excellent service from check-in to check-out. The dining experience at the restaurant was equally impressive—subdued, relaxing atmosphere with scrumptious food, and the staff were always approachable, knowledgeable, and friendly, greatly enhancing our dining experience. The breakfast was exceptional, featuring freshly squeezed juice, seasonal fruits, and a hearty and delicious full breakfast. The coffee, too, was remarkably good, a notable achievement sure to satisfy any coffee aficionado.

Birthday Dinner for 7 with pre dinner drinks in the lounge overlooking Blue Bay. The service has improved dramatically with all staff very attentive to everyone's needs. Delightful food, well prepared and served. An excellent wine list. We left contented!
