Tiny and busy place so be prepared for a wait but I will say it was worth it as we did end up enjoying our time there. Upon arriving, there were two couples ahead of us and when we were putting our details on the waiting list, only my name was left anyway. We also saw an old white lady just march straight through and seated herself and they just took it and we had to continue waiting so the list was a bit redundant.
However once inside the narrow place, the people working there are very lovely and the service is friendly and as prompt as possible. When our food was delivered, they explained the dish and helped prepare it in front of us. The food was a bit on the pricier end for the dishes we chose but I would say they back it up with quantity and quality so I would say it is a must try.

The food was just amazing, and the store was lively.
Local Japanese friends of mine travel to Ken’s Kissa and always comment it reminds them of home.
When we tried the food, everything was juicy, crunchy and flavoursome!!

Authentic. Family business. Cute. I went there for a quick breakfast before work as I’m new to the area and found it quiet. Apparently it’s very popular. At lunch time the work colleagues chose Ken’s Kissa for lunch. It’s packed out. Apparently ques at breakfast on a weekend. Lunch food was good. Chef came out for special meals next to our group. He lit the meat with a flame. Very dramatic.

The food tasted really good and the staff were also friendly.
We ordered the “Hitsumabushi.”
Eel on the rice with dashi soup became chazuke ? .
It was amazing to eat the dish in different ways, each with a unique taste.
The Matcha Roll Cake was rich!
If I have enough time, I would come back again?

An amazing cafe to visit for breakfast or lunch. We came here for lunch and it was very busy on the weekend but we’re still able to get a table inside. I ordered the loco moco with an onsen egg. The beef patty was quite nice and flavourful, the gravy was definitely the star for me, very rich and creamy taste and made the dish amazing. Also ordered a hot chocolate which was excellent, will definitely be back!

Delicious authentic Japanese food with a smile!! Fabulous staff n very friendly owners?; always checking if we were comfy n if food was ok… such sweet and caring couple!! Family run n a very busy restaurant . Few outdoors sitting tables but there’s seating indoors too.
Great variety of dishes on menu ; just can never choose which one to have!! Spoilt for choice!
My family n I have been regulars of this fab restaurant for years now… still has the wow factor after all these years… a great pick me up or quick brekkie on the way to Watson’s street Bus stop Neutral bay is our ritual before hopping on the bus to the city …
Thank you Ken for feeding us such yummy food all these years!!

Got the best chicken nanban bento in town so far. Add another $5 to get the amazing agedashi tofu n miso soup! The place is a bit small n it was hectic when we came over, but the staffs still gave us warm welcome. The man who wore the apron (I assumed he was the chef) constantly went to the guests n asked if everything was good. Appreciate all the small details! We tried their coffee n it was good! Definitely worth the second visit 🙂
