I had to stay close by John Hunter Hospital for 2 weeks post discharge after 6 week’s hospitalisation as I live out of area. |I was on bedrest and needed somewhere close by and safe and comfortable. Somewhere I could make my own food, do laundry and get food deliveries and Uber eats. ||John Hunter BNB was absolutely perfect and Jacob went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed, he even went out of his way and dropped me to hospital for appointments etc... |the accomodation is kept absolutely spotless and it feels very safe and homely. I highly recommend it to anyone looking into this accomodation. 5 stars!!

I needed a place to stay in Newcastle at short notice and John Hunter B&B was one of the few places available. I had a choice of a room with a shared bathroom or one with an ensuite (my room was accessible from outside of the house with its own entrance. |The reviews are mostly positive however my experience was not a great one.||The good news|Private separate entrance.|Comfortable bed.|Clean sheets and towels|Newish clean bathroom|Air-conditioner worked|The interior of the house was clean and tidy (compared to the room I was in)|Breakfast was adequate (although it would not qualify as a typical B&B where a cooked breakfast is typically provided)||The bad news|The room is falling apart and needs a good makeover|The furniture is old (looked mostly second hand)|The room is very small and is filled with unuseable items, a big table taking up room with only 1 chair, a massive fridge that's switched off, nowhere to place your clothes. Can't imagine how two people would navigate moving around the room.|Despite the double glazing the room is fairly noisy as it is facing a major highway.||Clearly the location is very convenient for people who wish to stay close to the hospital. I would not be using this venue again and certainly recommend that only rooms within the main house be booked and the external room is avoided.

Lovely clean accomodation and a wonderful welcoming host. Located just a short well-lit walk to hospital it was perfect for long days visiting. Keypad door locks on the room added to the sense of security and privacy since I was travelling alone. Happy to recommend.

Hello Jacob. It's a late review haha I stayed here for one month during May and June and had a great time. The place is very cozy, clean and comfortable. Perfect location to access to the hospital! Stayed here the night before going into hospital. Everything was clean and comfortable. It is back from the main road, so no traffic noise. Jacob was lovely and accommodating, very helpful. Will definitely stay again. Only downsides were that you can only turn air con on or off, and the walls are quite thin, so you can hear other guests.

The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. An easy five minute stroll to Newcastle Private Hospital, John Hunter Hospital and the specialist center. Car space and breakfast is provided. A perfect location and very convenient. Leave your car and walk. Jacob made my stay easy and stress free. Highly recommended. Thank you again Suzanne

This friendly B and B very convenient to John Hunter Hospital Newcastle, easy walking distance. Very friendly atmosphere, even though it is just off a main road I never heard one single vehicle during the night.||My bed was so comfortable, pillows just right, the bedding top quality. Was as good as being at home.||The whole area is the cleanest I have stayed in, good choice for breakfast, a comfortable dining room, a lounge area, good clean kitchen.||I chose an ensuite room, and it was better than a lot of motels I have stayed in either here in Australia or overseas.||Thank you for giving me a stress free visit. If necessary in the future this is where I will stay

Great location, perfect for our stay. Rooms are well appointed, clean and tidy. Beds are very comfortable. Great people to deal with, made our reservation and stay very easy and fuss free. Will most definitely be staying here again.
